Ultimate version coming to PS3/Vita, still no news on Western release

The new release, due out September in Japan, adds new story elements, new characters Xu Shu and Tamamo-no-Mae, and other components like Duel Mode from the Wii U version. Tecmo Koei teases there might also be news on a collaboration character in a followup report.

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, Tecmo Koei’s PlayStation 3 and PS Vita enhanced version of Warriors Orochi 3 and Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper, will launch in Japan on September 26, the company has announced.

The PlayStation 3 version will cost 6,615 yen at retail and 5,800 yen via download. The PS Vita version will cost 6,090 yen at retail and 5,400 yen via download.

Last week, Tecmo Koei teased a collaboration character for Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, and this week’s Famitsu has the reveal.

Kasumi from Dead or Alive will be a playable. Her weapon is a short sword.

Yinglong (Chinese Dragon) is also introduced. He is a military commander who was active in the dwelling place of hermits, and uses a pair of dragon swords in battle.

Kasumi isn’t the only character crossing over to Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. Famitsu this week reveals a collaboration with the Atelier series.

Sterkenburg Cranach, from Atelier‘s Arland sub-series, will be a playable character in Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. He is voiced by Jurota Kosugi.

But how did Sterk make his way into the Warriors Orochi world? After finishing the Meruru escort mission and returning to Arland, he became involved in a space-time distortion and arrived in an alternate universe.

Yeah, WO3 is definitely pretty good, I just hate some of the stupid shit koei changed for some officers... The only Power female is Nuwa, like wtf, even though she's fucking OP as fuck and like one of the best chars out of all in the game, but shit, not even Ginchiyo is Power type and she makes the most sense for a power type yet she's Tech, and tech fucking sucks compared to other 3 types.


Best character in game is Xiahou Ba by far, that bitch is pure rape mode but he can get boring to play really fast too.

Wait... Ginchiyo isn't power type in WO3?

WO3U Coming to PS4 in June (Japan)

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate is coming to PlayStation 4, Tecmo Koei reveals in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine.

Due out in Japan on June 26 for 6,800 yen at retail and 6,000 yen via download, the PlayStation 4 version can display over 150 soldiers on screen, has improved graphics, lighting, and backgrounds, rebuilt effects, and is cross-save and cross-play compatible with the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita versions.

The game is currently 55 percent complete.

Appears to be heading West, rated in Australia

The Australian Classification Board has rated Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, suggesting an incoming localization announcement from Tecmo Koei.

The updated version of Warriors Orochi 3 includes the new features from Wii U’s Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper, as well as new characters Xu Shu (Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires), Mae Tamamo, Yinglong, a younger Nezha, Kyubi no Kitsune, Hundun, Kasumi (Dead or Alive), Sterkenburg Cranach (Atelier Arland, and Sophitia Alexandra (Soulcalibur. It also adds two new stories, stages, an Unlimited Mode, and more.

Coming to NA & EU in Fall 2014, XBone version revealed

After confirming Samurai Warriors 4 for a western release (with an additional PlayStation 4 version announced) yesterday, Tecmo Koei today confirmed it will bring Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate to North America and Europe, with an Xbox One version, as well.

The game will also be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita. If you missed it, a trailer for the PlayStation 4 version was released last night.

If you’re at MCM London Comic-Con this weekend, a trailer will debut there.

Tecmo Koei today announced that Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate will launch in North America on September 2 and in Europe on September 5 2014 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 computer entertainment systems, PS Vita and Xbox One. The company also announced special crossover pre-order incentives with a Halloween costume set for Zhao Yun from Dynasty Warriors, Mitsunari Ishida from Samurai Warriors, along with Kaguya exclusively at Game (in North America, these are GameStop-exclusive) and Toukiden costumes for Kaguya, Nuwa and Taigong Wang from independent retailers through Centresoft (Amazon or Best Buy in North America).

Fans will experience Warriors Orochi 3 in a brand new light as they enter the fray with the implementation of new generation console features, new storylines and scenarios. There is enough new gameplay content and depth of replayability to satisfy warriors of all levels including special cross over characters such as Sophitia from the Soul Calibur series and battle stages from Atelier, Dynasty Warriors, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Warriors Orochi.
