Girl-specific bounce is nothing new. But Dead or Alive 5 takes the bounce to new heights with costume-specific bounce.

In an interview with Famitsu Xbox 360, a partial transcript of which was posted today to Famitsu.com, director Yohei Niibori revealed that the game's breast movement will vary not just by character, but by costume as well.

The clothing transparency level will also vary by outfit.

We've thus far seen all new costume designs. However, the game will also have arranged versions of past costumes, producer Yosuke Hayashi said.

Hayashi also spoke about the game's collaboration with Virtua Fighter. After the arcade release of Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown in July 2010, he visited Sega with a design doc and some demo footage. The collaboration was in place from the early phases of the DOA5 project. Team Ninja is working with the Virtua Fighter development staff on such things as modeling, motion and gameplay.

CE for NA/EU announced

Tecmo Koei America has announced a collector’s edition for its upcoming fighter sequel Dead or Alive 5. It will include “sensual” in-game swimsuits for female characters and a deluxe set of both physical and in-game items in a “sleek metal case.”

“We wanted to create a truly compelling package of rewards to make our ‘DOA Day’ launch a day to celebrate for the fans that have made Dead or Alive synonymous with intense hand-to-hand fighting combat,” said Amos Ip, SVP and General Manager of Tecmo Koei America. “Whether it’s a stunning set of female fighter swimsuits for preorders or an entire luxurious package complete in an embossed metal case for the Collector’s Edition, players will get something that enriches their gaming experience.”

First-class embossed steel case that keeps the precious goods inside safe.
Premium swimsuit costumes for Dead or Alive 5’s full cast of playable female characters.
An exclusive hardcover art book details the game’s lush imagery and the game’s stirring soundtrack CD lets fans experience the music of Dead or Alive even when they’re away from the game.
A full-color poster of the Dead or Alive 5 cast tops off the deluxe package of items.

It will be available for $79.99 exclusively at GameStop in the U.S., or through CentreSoft in the U.K. A teaser image for the collector’s edition can be seen to the right.

Dead or Alive 5 is getting a GameStop-exclusive collector’s edition, as well as pre-order benefits for those that decide to pre-order the game through either GameStop or Amazon. Tecmo Koei announced details on both fronts this morning.

Pre-ordering Dead or Alive 5 at GameStop or Amazon will get you a set of in-game bunny-style swimsuits for three of the game’s female characters. GameStop pre-orders come with a “DOA Angels” set of white swimsuits for Kasumi, Leifang and Hitomi. Meanwhile, Amazon pre-orders come with a “DOA Devils” set of black swimsuitst for Christie, Tina and Ayane.

The collector’s edition is more grand. If you buy the collector’s edition at GameStop, you’ll get exclusive swimsuit costumes for every female character in the game, along with a hardcover art book and a soundtrack CD. Also included will be a poster, and the entire package will come in an embossed steel case for $80.

Goddamnit, this might finally end my streak of not buying anything at Gamestop. I may just order online because going into the store is the most annoying thing possible.
