Does Ifrit actually need TP to use his abilities? I noticed you pretty much went all-out on damage, ignoring debuffs like Moonrise and Twisting Vice. Was this a decision you specifically made after finding other methods less effective?

Ifrit's abilities are not based on his TP and cannot be interrupted. Ifrit also cannot be stunned.

I've been trying to compare the damage outputs of different WS since 1.19 and it seems like Moonrise now has the best damage/TP ratio except when Ferocity (etc) is on, when Chaos Thrust barely surpasses it. Doomspike still seems very inefficient as with 2k TP I only got 1-1.1k damage on Phaia while Moonrise was consistently producing 700 damage for only 1k TP. Skewer got nerfed hard and deals only about 60-70% of Moonrise damage unless you hit multiple targets.

Yeah, the dmg/TP efficiency ratios haven't really changed much since release, but with how actions work now, DPS is a more important metric than dmg/TP.

The most important thing for melee DPS in the fight is getting the timing down on his abilities.

How useful is fire resist vs say +def or +hp materia? Just curious which will do more for me in this fight before I start melding the rest of my gear.

+DEF materia seems marginal, getting 15 more on top of your 800 is just kinda meh. HP and MP seemed to help a ton, as the tank I stacked the shit out of it.

im waiting for your write up on the guide ^^ video is very clear to understand (nice video thanks :D) but my main question is:

1. How do you all survive hellfire with only 1 pillar down?
2. Does ifrit 3x charge at last phase only damage people in the middle? or moving to edge away from the position he dissappear will do the trick?
