anyone for a couple of rounds?
Still trying to get the lingo for this game down, but..
"FADC into Ultra" I'm assuming that means Focus Attack Dash Cancel, right? Where the FA lands and you dash as soon as it's over to act faster, right? If I'm completely off let me know, need to get all this shit down.
i think it's when you start a Focus attack, and then dash to cancel out of it in order to do something else
Nah, what he's describing is a regular old Focus Attack, which leads to a crumple, that allows you to dash into an Ultra/any combo. This doesn't require any meter to perform.
There are 3 levels of focus. The first is when you just press focus, and let it go. This is like a normal hit, but on counterhit, you'll get the opponent to crumple and fall to the ground. Level 2 happens when you hold Focus for a bout a second, and you'll notice your character flash. If you let focus go, and your opponent doesn't block, he'll be put into a crumple state which allows you to dash up and combo. If you hold Focus all the way to level 3, you'll get the full paintbrush affect, and the FA will be unblockable. However, moves with long invincibility frames like some DP and Ultra's will beat it.
An FADC is when you literally cancel out the recovery frames of another normal or special. For example, Ryu can cancel is Dragon Punch. On hit, this move puts the opponent into juggle state, and Ryu can use hit Focus Attack to Dash Cancel the animation of said Dragon Punch, and then perform the Ultra to hit the opponent before his body lands on the ground.
You are basically Focus Attack Dash Cancelling the Dragon Punch, which allows you extra time to juggle and requires 2 bars to perform. 2 bars will only be spent if you FADC out of another move's animation.
Ah I see, well, at least I got a part of it down, just getting the timing on doing the actual FADC in a combo, oh well. Practice, practice, etc.

What all characters really need this exactly? I'm still trying to decide who I'll main, stuck on Rufus, Cody or Fuerte at the moment. I'll still learn it regardless of my character needing it or not since having the knowledge wouldn't hurt.
Fuerte is extremely hard to play, I really wouldn't go to him as a starting Character. Cody has some FADC combo's but you don't need to learn them at the start.
If I were you, I'd start with Cody. He's a great all around character, and his basic cambo's are very easy to learn. His anti air (St. MP) is extremely strong and his damage is pretty solid. You can use his U2 to punish things like blocked DP's and it does a loooot of damage.
have a suggestion for moi? I really like sakura a lot, but im just not sure at times. Although its probably because i have a difficult time blocking. . .
Sakura is good but you need to understand the game mechanics to really beast with her. She's not a bad character to learn though. Just look up Uryo's Sakura on youtube. He smashes shit with her all day every day.
So i thought i was doing FADC, but obviously i'm not. still don't understand how to pull it off QQ. Do i do MK+MP THEN dash forward and input the command? Because it seems that when i do it the other way the ultra takes priority(this is with ryu btw)
Yo leb are you on 360 PC or PS3? if 360 should come practice w/me D:
PS3, PC is to shitty to run SF and since no stick, I'd prefer to use PS3 pad til I get my hands on one.
damn oh well maybe some other time!
