Sono what time is the interview at?
Just a heads up everyone, Action bar saving is being implemented in 1.19a which is being released today.
fan-fucking-tastic
also, there was JP response that they are working on attaching materia through bazaar and it's high on their priority list, yay
Good. This needing to "repair weapon > trade weapon/catalyst/materia to the crafter thing > trade item back" shit sucks. Whenever they designed a system they really ought to playtest it for tedium before releasing it to the public. It's the precise reason they are changing the way Fingerprint of the Gods works already. Shit, they need to playtest in general so silly things like the retarded powerleveling doesn't happen. Sometimes I wonder what the crap they're doing and if they even use a test server at all.
They've mentioned their in house QA team, which suggests they do test it, but don't know how to react to it until the players get their hands on it.
SE is playing very passively and pandering to customers, which isn't bad but it makes them look kinda unprofessional when it seems so desperate.
Just a few off the top of my head...
- Are there any plans to make repop timers dynamic or increase them in areas where monsters respawn before you've even had a chance to move?
- Are there any plans to implement a Rift or Campaign style invasion system for the Garleans? If so can we expect the system to be more in depth than Campaign, featuring smaller skirmishes as well as zone wide invasions? What kind of level ranges and rewards can we expect?
- Can you tell us anything about the map revamps coming in the future? A timeline? What kind of revamps to expect?
- There are a lot of unexplored regions in Eorzea, such as Paglth'an which appears to be between Thanalan and The Black shroud, when can we expect to explore these areas?
- Do you plan to continue to follow in the footsteps of the original development team and support DoL and DoH as viable methods of play in their own right? If so do you plan on adding any content for these classes beyond new items to gather and create?
- Are there any plans to implement player workshops or stores for DoH and DoL to achieve a sense of progression?
- What are your plans for future instanced content? Players were happy with Darkhold because it was something to do, but it serves two functions that seem at odds with one another (exp and bosses/loot) do you plan to streamline the two experiences together in future dungeons, separate them entirely, or make different versions of an instance for each use?
Its why one my questions was about the beta server yoshi P mentioned he may add at some point...
It would "hopefully" get enough people to actually test a patch before its released and reduce the amount of possibly "game breaking" type bugs/input on the new changes and general possible public response to the changes and ways to fix them (aka more developer/customer interaction).
If someone's asking questions, I'd want to know about:
The barber-style NPCs
If the classes in the .dats will be release and/or what plans they have for actual different classes. Everything now seems so bland aside from the weapon you use.
Being able to do story quests as DoH classes
If I think of any more that weren't posted (aside from ones I wanted answered) I'll report back.
Also, do you speak Japanese Sonomaa? I'm worried about PR translations into answers they want reported to the community.
Might want a new question for the Dev team for your question, they just posted the answer to your question

Lets just hope its not "eye candy V2.0" like what happened with the current release of FFXIV
just one question: why you never thought of making FFXI-2 (FFXI HD)? that would have solved gajabillions of drama.
I was pretty excited about this interview but now I'm afraid all he's going to answer is "please check the lodestone for the latest reveal".
Hopefully we can still get some good info out of this.
Might as well reboot this thread as of the 2.0 reveal.
EDIT: With that said, I only have one question now...
Are they going to open new servers that existing players CANNOT transfer to when they come out with the PS3 version? God help them if they don't.
By the way, a thread has been opened by the mods on the forums taking questions for the next live letter, if you guys want to post some of your stuff from here on there too.
My 3 questions still will be the same as they still fit to FFXIV 2.0 (even with all the stuff they have inputted in the pdf's).
Like a beta server "when" FFXIV 2.0 is active, in what way they will improved grouping system/community system for new people/veteran players to assemble groups to do stuff and the better developer/community interaction (tied with beta server pretesting patches, so we have less hit or miss things happening.
I don't think theirs been a major patch something is broken" or flawed, and having to be address "next patch" (or maybe they do it on purpose just to have something for a "next patch" to keep their 2 patch a month schedule... who knows!
(pretty much all of what i posted on page 1 of this thread, short version here)
According to the roadmap shown on Lodestone, you have started working (and have finished the work) on some items already, such as character creation and chat/party systems.
Even though these will be included in the new 2.0 version of the game at the earliest(?), are you going to release info/pics/teasers concerning the finished/near finished features as we move on towards 2.0?
Can you tell us a bit about what kind of/type of content will you provide us for progression purposes (1-50) in the intended 2.0 environment? Currently our options are limited, with open world monster grinding becoming increasingly popular as of 1.19. Is there going to be more dynamic, randomized content for example? One could assume such things about some of the content you've revealed, such as The Crystal Tower and Labyrinth.
How will Guildleves function in this new environment? It is listed as an item you are working on starting from mid-October.
How will animations be altered, if at all? What kind of modifications are underway to them?
I feel like this is going to get asked (or I'm just curious):
How did the decision to switch to subs come about, and how does the XIV team feel about charging players?
