In other news, rumor says that Kusoru is really coming to evo under a different name.

The rumor is he's Daiki Matsubara on the bracket, I don't remember which group/pool (has "wishes to remain anonymous" under it though). The reasoning is that he has tweeted about that name before and used that name in a tournament. It's from some visual novel or some shit.

Taking a closer look at the AE brackets, I think Latif will have a tough task getting to top 32. Not impossible, but certainly tricky. It's very likely that his first match after pools will be against Daigo. Should he lose that, he will have to face the loser of a potential JWong vs. Dakou match. Not that anyone has an easy path to top 32, but Latif's looks harder than most.

Honestly, I would place my money on Latif over Daigo.

Also, who knows if they will reshuffle brackets once it gets to the F bracket or not. (ie - take the remaining players with EVO points and re-seperate them and then re-randomize all players with no EVO points. This would be the only way to do it and compensate for having EVO points)

If Kusoru's coming, I'd be interested to see if he's sticking with his RR/Joe/Frank team or switching to more-played characters like Vergil and what not. He's got some stuff on his youtube that's pretty impressive and I wouldn't mind seeing.

Yeah, I'm operating under the assumption that they will keep the placings that are listed on their brackets. They very well could shuffle things, and then who fucking knows what to expect. Also, I think Daigo can beat Latif. That said, I would not be at all surprised if Latif beat him. That's one of the things that has me really excited for EVO this year. I feel like the field is so deep that it's virtually impossible to pick a top 8/32/whatever.

Anyway, having followed my fantasy bracket through I have a new top 8:

3. Xian
4. Infiltration
5. Gamerbee & Poongko
7. Daigo & Mike Ross (I must have been really believin when looking at this bracket lol For some reason I picked him to win three straight over Nuki, Bonchan and Fuudo... no real explanation other than not wanting to only have 1 American in top 8.)
