Does GC bypass the delay when collecting gear, and if not, is that even possible?

It uses the delay configured in <itemDelay>, instead of the usual client delay.

Doesn't appear to, if you run it as soon as you get into mog without letting your safe load, it can freak out a little.

Although, it switches between inventory areas faster then I can manually, and can find everything more reliably then I can manually.

...Do people really have <=80 pieces of gear for anything any more?
That's what the Group subcommands are for. I was a bit put off at first too, but then I started to think about it.. PDT/MDT/Evasion/Accuracy/whatever sets are completely unnecessary to keep in Sack/Satchel, because how often do you not know you're going to need them when you leave your Mog House? If you have any idea what your plans are before you leave town, the answer should really be never. The only truly situational gear is shit like Obis, Zodiac Ring, etc. On top of that, Porter Moogles are storing anywhere from 10~20 slots for every job, so that's a lot less the GC actually has to mess with. You show me a situation where a single character needs to carry more than 80 pieces of gear on their person, not counting the truly situational kind of stuff like the aforementioned Obis that never leave /Satchel anyway, and I'll show you someone who is carrying around a lot of marginal-to-useless gear.

...which is the post that Lil seemed to jump on.
Wasn't. Describing something like this as "inadequate" for reasons that don't really hold any water is highly insulting to the developers.

When I go to blu burn and I am doing all the heavy lifting I bring more than 80 peices of gear and not because they are anywhere near useless. While technically it's becaues I am bringing gear for 2 situtations (light building and burning with a few sets per situation) it's not like I can go back to my mog house after I get done building lights

Ionno, I bring Whisker, Stoneskin, PDT, TP, WS gear and it all fits in my inventory.. sure you're not going overboard? Atmas are doing most of the work anyway~

Sure you could used gimped sets and go that's good enough. But I use spellcast now so there's no reason not to. And what about sets for um idk any other spells? Plus I bring sets for CDC and sanguine blade. What about cure set?

All jobs have what? MHP/HHP MDT PDT EVA Melee builds and WS builds.

Most people have abandoned hMP/hHP sets by now.EVA will vary. People tend to satchel or not use their MDT sets lately it seems (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBS!). The rest are relevant for common purposes.

A gimp set has the same number of slots as a proper set; you're just bringing along sets you don't really need. Cure, Sanguine Blade, 'other spells', all completely unnecessary for light building / whisker farming.

A gimp set might use the same number of slots but tends to use the same peice of gear for more things. So in the end less gear. Technically everything but pdt and CW sets are "unecessary" but the others are certainly useful and speed things up. Heck for most things most jobs don't "need" more than 1 full time set. But god does it kill there efficiency.

As far as sanguine blade... yeah I don't use it much for light building so could get rid of it. But having it do more dmg for amber is nice considering without it I risk meleeing the mob to death half the time given how much dmg I do and decent chance to da/ta/crit. Cures... well not having them is a huge waste of mp while farming lights and slows things down considerably. But then again it doesn't sound like you really use DD spells so I guess that doesn't matter to you. But I find meleeing everything down and not using DD spells is actually decently slower

I might add that I actually counted it up and it's actually only around 70 peices of gear since I don't use some sets hardly anymore. That being said I do carry non equipment in my invent . And I haven't gotten around to switching my af from the af storing to moogle yet lol

I'm not arguing against using multiple sets for different things, I'm simply saying that carrying a ton of gear for purposes that are peripheral to whatever it is you're doing is pointless, and as such is not a very good argument against something like GC.

As for the BLU example, seriously, WoR, CW, PDT, SS, Enhancing, TP, CDC is all you need (I'm talking real sets, not this gimp idea you got in your head). Anything else is completely unnecessary and you're kidding yourself and/or doing it wrong if you think otherwise.

How is killing mobs faster and being more mp efficient peripheral? And I'm not arguing against GC to begin with just your assumption that a job can't bring more than 80 peices of useful gear

I'd say you are kidding yourself in thinking WoR is all that useful a set to make. Or SS. Unless you call having a couple of enhance stoneskin peices a "set". And even then you get another 20 dmg to absorb on top of your 350 stoneskin and 2k hp.... whoopdedooo.

I can't count the times that a mob was high enough that I couldn't kill it with sanguine blade without a set built for it (and sometimse even still) but low enough where another attack round would kill it. And yes even with CDC casting DD spells is extremely helpful. Like I said do I "need" them? No. But it makes things alot faster than sitting by and only meleeing shit

It's pretty funny... I made a list of equipment I use on MNK - and it came out to 56 slots, and that's accounting for a slot for BS/KS/KC/HKCs, food, loose shihei, shihei stack, sneak/invis NIN tools... but that's if I stop carrying around 8/8 elemental sachets like a douchenozzle... even still, with the sachets, I still never have anywhere near 16 free slots... shit fills up fast. Hate the garbage items that don't stack, like crab shells and ahriman lenses.

The "56 list" includes gear for TP/WS/Chakra/PDT/MDT/MoveSpeed and the typical JA enhancing AF/Relic pieces... also a couple of fast cast pieces.

Honestly thought I was closer to "needing 80+ slots" - but it'd be a reach to get to that point unless I started carrying around MAB and Chi Blast sets...

Only way I see this becoming an issue is if SE starts adding a ton of WS gear to replace the current pieces that double as TP pieces...

Never, ever, bothered with an EVA set also. If it's that hard hitting, I'm probably /NIN, and have enough counter/natural evasion/HP/Cures to live through everything anyway. What I can't survive, evasion wouldn't save me on anyway (I was one shotted by those four armed undead thing TP moves a couple of times, that's about it...)

Extent of my HHP set is Melee Cape and taking Melee Cyclas out of my sack. I think the last time I had to use HHP was soloing crabs inside WoE at level 85... and that was if I got two.

Believe it or not, it actually takes some pretty specific gear to get a 450 Stoneskin on BLU/RDM; and it is extremely helpful, as it facilitates Pull > WoR > Whisker, instead of having to do all that Dream Flower / Enervation / etc. nonsense. If any one set (besides the CW set of course) facilitates killspeed more than the others, it's definitely this one. It is certainly not useless lol

As for SB kills? Use the right atmas for the job, problem solved.

Yes like I said unless you call the 4 enhance peices a "set" then sure. And idk what your doing but I just flower BA CW. Or if I forgot aquaveil I'll start with actinic burst. So how is your stoneskin set speeding kill speed up again? Mind you this works regardless of how much I got hit as long as I can survive the cast. While it sounds like you are relying on stoneskin to still actually be up at the end of the pull

And why the hell would I run back and change atmas just for amber kills when I can get them while I'm farming pearl? Again we are getting into yeah I could do it that way but it would take longer

I take it you don't understand how the Stoneskin formula works.. and what happens when mobs resist your CW? You have to sit there casting a bunch of spells to kill them you wouldn't have had to otherwise, whereas WoR > CW kills every mob, every time. As for relying on Stoneskin being up at the end of the pull.. why are you getting hit on the pull at all? My way's faster, sorry.

I know exactly how it works and how it is quite possible for a blu/rdm to get to 350 stoneskin naked in abyssea without Atma help. Hmmm resist CW.... I idk kill them. A bunch of spells? So your saying that I can't just WoR right after IF I get a resist? Somehow that spell only works if casted before CW? And usually I'm actually meleeing it for pearl since I start early while I open chests on my mule. And it is statistically impossible for WoR>CW to kill every mob everytime unless your WoR has 100% acc.

And I get hit sometimes because:

    1. I don't have any movement speed for blu.
    2. Generally speaking in order to gather the most you end up running in ways that aren't exactly opposite of the mobs you are pulling so the end up taking more efficient routes to you.
    3. Sometimes *gasp* you just gotta pull whatever is out there which might mean mobs that run faster or ones that just aggro and not link. Or you might being trying to pull more than 1 family.

Yes your way is like what 1 sec faster unless you keep on assuming your 100% WoR acc. Then it's like 1.75 sec. Then again if I wasn't getting hit on pulls the only buff I'd bother with is aquaveil. Hello time saved. Actually now that I think about it I don't really actually need dream flower anymore since I've made my CW set actually good. No real point if I'm going straight into nuke after that
