Fucks up your insides. Lots of times it leads to organ shutdown and all sorts of crazy shit. Had an ex that was into corsets, although not anywhere near that extreme. lol She had blood in her urine one day and found out that her kidneys were bruised...she stopped.

Funny thing is that the figure she has with a corset on is the same one most comic book chicks have these days except what it would really look like. Much like Anime eyes painted onto real girls' faces.

As for the health risks, the most notable one is Glenard's disease which is characterized by decreased abdominal muscle tone, visceral displacement, and atrophy of the abdominal wall. Other problems would be as mentioned, compression of the chest cavity that can deform internal organs, specifically the stomach and liver (which is one reason they're still cited for use, since it 'decreases appetite' when you 'train'), decreased lung capacity, intercostal breathing, and physical deformities. Lastly, the downwards pressure exerted by certain ones *cough* can result in unsightly bulges or an 'abdominal skirt' - a band of stomach tissue that folds over the top of itself.

So, yeah. Not so much, and no thanks. Went to the extremes a little much here.

This. You're wrong this time, Cel. Corsets are bad news when worn that tightly, especially around the abdominal walls. She'll feel it (and regret it) later, but hey, she's young. Plenty of people screw up their future health while young; its a part of living for some.
