Gaining access isn't that hard, it's just time consuming. When we went to get everyone their items after patch it took us only an hour, and that was with competing with everyone.

:D hence why we kill BRD 2nd lol which then makes the king have the invincble buff but only uses it on himself making him super easy to kite
Seems like it's also possible to kill the moogles before they summon. Noticed my friend has a history title that says "XXXXXXX (Server) has defeated the malevolent moogles within Thornmarch before Memento Moogle could be used!"
I didn't know about it til now. Then again my interest in this fight is at an all time low because of the god awful NM farming.
NMs aren't bad.
I don't mind doing walking around, killing the NMs to get the key items. I've done it. Twice even.
It's just that doing the same thing x50 with few rewards (if any) is not "fun", its just a time waster for everyone involved. Fine do it once to unlock the fight, heck make the initial unlocking of the fight harder! But once you've initially unlocked it, repeating a fight should not be more difficult than farming an inferno taper-esque type drop. The difference with farming for the key items for repeat fights between ifrit and moogle is you can solo for tapers, but moogle forces you to party in a slowed down environment.
Yes, you can do the fight without the key items but honestly, who in their right minds would want to without some form of reward?
They aren't, but it's more of an annoyance than anything. And I don't care for the weapons much either.
BTW Darte, where is that Yoshida post at about the NMs?
Reinheart posted that in his translation thread
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...l=1#post4879103 posts from YoshiP mainly talking about the trigger item issue for the moogle BC - he's going to talk to the dev team tomorrow and will make adjustments to ease it; also says he will try hard to try and get 1.20a out as fast as possible.
Not sure on where the jp post is exactly as i've hidden the JP forums, but I trust the guy with the rough translations.

Note the order. Progression > *
Who gives a shit about loot in this game, honestly. Every patch is a complete revamp until 2.0. Do it for the enjoyment, to play with friends, and to be first if thats your deal. I'll never understand the loot perspective.
True, but not everyone plays purely for the progression factor. I'm lucky enough to be in a good raid group, but we're made up of folks with obligations in real life (including myself nowadays). As such, we'd rather "play" more and spend less time on repetitive tasks to unlock content.
So really, you can't say progression has just 1 meaning. It can mean a lot of things to different people.
Yeah, he'll have a talk with the devs a month from now, and get a response a month later as to what they will decide to do. Of which we will have to probably wait another 2 months for it to be implemented just cuz. All this is, is a fkin content stretch. Same shit with Ifrit.
It really is just a time sink, which is sort of the purpose of it. However, I also feel that possibility of a lower subscriber base might be on their mind, as well. It could go either way, so maybe they will come to a middle ground on the matter. We ended up winning two days after patch, but it's been a little hit-and-miss. It's always easy with the right people, though, lol

Killing all the moogles presummon is easy with a party of well geared archers
Someone report back how much easier the fight is now that the moogles actually fucking die when they are supposed to.
Going to go do the fight in about 30 minutes, gonna check out the drop rate of those new items then see how nice it is to not have moogles brought back from the fucking dead.
Just got two unmarked keystones from one spindiggle, very nice.
Edit: Killed 5 spindiggles, got 2 from each one.
No more 0 damage BS, I can say that much. BRD really liked buffing up the ones we wanted to kill on one run though. What a jerk.
e: To elaborate, it does the regular "stops what you were doing" instead of blowing it for 0 damage like any other dead mob.
