Yeah I haven't played in months myself as there really hasn't been anything to do. Figured I'd try out the expansion at least though.

It's kind of a half expansion. Only costs 10 bucks if you're a subscriber and all it is is 1 planet thats big enough to get you from 50-55, plus a few other side missions. Apparently its good though, although I haven't had a chance to get in because I don't have early access so I have to wait until sunday to get any of the new content. They also added proper achievements for pretty much everything which is pretty cool, and a new operation.
Some other stuff I've had looked at since I came back. They added repuations last month though and that adds an additional level of depth that the game sorely needed. HK-51 is a boss, and the mission to get him is kinda cool. New space missions added a few patches ago are hard and actually require some semblance of challenge to complete, the first time through at least. There are actual Jedi/Sith robes that they've added to the game via the cartel market (which can be sold on the GTN), so yay for robes.
So yeah, its swtor, its Star Wars. I'm doin class storylines and enjoying myself swinging my lightsaber around. Hoping Bioware picks up the pace with content delivery now that they're done firing people and morale at the company is high again.
Yeah the content delivery is the main reason I stopped playing. There was nothing new other than tiny little 50 cap areas since release like the Section X and Black Hole areas that really take all of an hour to do. If they ever pick that up again I might actually play the thing regularly again.
Well I did noticed they did place the past two major patches on the PTR quicker than normal. If they can keep pace, I may actually stay this time.
Yeah. I'm hoping that they start to branch off into their own stride like how Rift did now that they are making money with FTP and team is happy again.
The expansion unlocked today for everybody. I finished it after about 10 straight hours of play running through it with a buddy the entire time. The storyline is good. Bioware finally remembered what makes a compelling story. There are some side quests but there aren't a lot of them which is a good thing because that lets the main story line get the spotlight instead of getting drowned away in a sea of forgettable fetch/kill quests. I don't want to get people's hopes too high and I don't want to spoil anything, but the quality of the story is comparable to Bioware's previous titles.
Its well worth the $10 if you're a subscriber. This is one of the best paid dlc/expansion packs Bioware has put out recently.
