The doctor skit at the beginning of this weeks episode was fucking hilarious. When the doctor got in on it at the end I lost it. The bitch skit from the first one was great, I think if they stopped it before the space thing it would have been just fine, the panning down to them in a field did enough to make me laugh at that point. I liked the first Lil Wayne one, rest were just kinda there. The stuff they do in between on the stage is pretty enjoyable too, like white people fights. Either way really enjoying this sketch show.

In a rare show of confidence for a promising, young program that does not feature the smirking mockery of Daniel Tosh, Comedy Central has renewed the sketch-comedy series Key & Peele for a second season, set to air this coming fall. Or to put it in terms that the axe-happy execs at Comedy Central might better understand: The cancellation of Key & Peele has been delayed until at least early 2013.
It helps that the show is delivering the types of numbers that can please its notoriously fickle network overlords: Key & Peele is Comedy Central’s strongest-performing new series since Tosh.0, and it just might be the signature sketch show the network has lacked since Dave Chappelle fled Chappelle’s Show for a life of African sabbaticals and testing the patience of his audiences. It also can’t hurt that Key & Peele resembles the hybrid sketch/stand-up model that proved so successful for Chappelle—though none of Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele’s riffs on pop culture and racial identity have yet achieved the cultural ubiquity of, say, “I’m Rick James, bitch!” And as much as we’d hate to see the world at large quote Key & Peele into oblivion, for the continued success of the show, you should try to work at least one “I have a hot, diggity, daggity, mama-say mama-sah ma-ma-coo-sah birth certificate” into conversation today.

Love this show. The segment about the two "thugs" talking on the phone is soooooooo true. All those "DL" brothas on the corner, you know who you are!

I was expecting some sort of "maybe, not sure" joke when Obama used the Negraph.
But both guys are also mixed so they can't exactly make that joke.

heh, Game of Thrones reference in tonights ep.
and Flicker skit was great until they dragged it on a bit.
They always ruin their greatest skits by dragging them out.

finally caught this, is the show doing well? it's way funnier than I expected

  16. #36

I find myself liking it more and more each week. Like a lot of sketch shows there are hits and misses but I think they're starting to hit their stride. Like Souj said, a lot of sketches would be better if they ended them before they got predictable.

Pretty sure it was already renewed for another season, so, yeah.

And yeah, some of the sketches do go on a little too long, but this show is still really funny. I hate the intro song though. >.>

Been catching up on episodes recently. Feels a little hit and miss, but when they hit it's a home run. It's just a little weird without hearing the audience laugh or some kind of laugh track.

I think it's nice that I don't need to be reminded or prompted to laugh.

Never really felt like being promoted to laugh, but I have an idea of what you mean. Its so common in other sketch/variety comedy shows, kind of difficult to adjust to.
