Relevant now that information is slowly leaking out:
Katsuhiro Harada recently answered a question on his Twitter Feed which clarified a statement he made a while back about the upcoming Tekken X Street Fighter. He said that only Street Fighter characters would play with six buttons in Tekken X Street Fighter. Tekken characters, on the other hand, would still control with four. Combined with his previous statement that Street Fighter characters might use some sort of resource meter while Tekken characters would not, it sounds like they will play completely differently than the Tekken side of the cast.

Katsuhiro Harada has been tweeting about Tekken X Street Fighter again. This time, he answered some questions about the gameplay engine. When asked if the game would be tag team only, he said that he was considering making the game 1v1. When asked if the Street Fighter characters would run on a four or six button system, Harada said he would be testing a six button system. This would be the first time a six button system would be used in a Tekken style game.

Recently he said that he would be holding a Tekken X Street Fighter roster vote on the Tekken facebook page sometime in the near future. This was in response to a fan who asked if Karin and Poison would be in the game.
In addition, Harada said that he is considering giving the SF side of the roster access to a special gauge or meter, something that hasn’t been done in the Tekken franchise yet. He says this special system is “simple but cool” but says nothing else about it.
Finally, Harada said that he is considering bringing the game to the PS Vita as well.
