hey all. just wanted share some pup solo video episodes in my style with you guys and hope it help all the pup trying to solo some of abyssea or other NM

Friend of mine soloed Carabosse as PUP/DNC with WHM frame. Lots of close calls but it was doable.

Out of curiosity, because I use the ability so rarely.

How does Deus ex automata affect the automaton behavior wise exactly? Does it change the mechanics of the attachments at all or cause some not to work or is it just just a major HP depletion?

I'd recommend /DNC next time. You can melee it and use Steps to lower it's defense/evasion and also stun its spells and TP moves and just use Ventriloquy when your pet dies and you recall it. /SCH doesn't give you too much except a 200ish Stoneskin and a weak drain/aspir(that Caturae resist heavily)

DEA just resummons the puppet with a fraction of its full HP and MP (specifically, (master_level/3)% of each). All other functionalities are left intact.

Also while I guess it's impressive I have to ask: no gear swaps? Don't equip WS gear for your Smite at start or empy feet for tactical switch. Likewise, you could use a PET: Stat body to idle in and just macro in empy body for manoeuvres. I guess if you can throw any pup at it with just deus ex automata, then if you actually had proper equipment sets then you cold do so much more.

Doesn't it summon the pet with a higher overload burden also? Been awhile since I played my PUP outside of relvling it for the new caps.

Light arts will cap stoneskin easily(not that you'd have trouble capping it even without LA, with proper gear), so it's 350 plus whatever enhance SS gear you have. Not advocating pup/sch for this type of solo but yeah.

Kutharei also has high stun resistance, I doubt violent flourish would land often.

Deus ex and activate both seem to put the auto right under the overload point, so I don't think it's any worse in that regard.

Minor but:
Use a better choice of music, not overused ones, as tempting as it may be -> in my opinion the best music is from video games with little to no vocals, which depending on the type, can rage people really quickly
