If you're using a controller make sure you don't use other key mapping programs while playing TERA, you need to set it up IG, otherwise if you run another program+TERA it's gonna try and use 2 sets of mapped keys at the same time
Bleh, I only now saw this.![]()
Which of the two servers are we using when this goes active again on Friday?
Bancat, pick a server, boss.
As far as servers go, I think we are only having 1 this weekend (the one that was just up) so might be as simple as that.
DS3 Tool works fine for me but you have to use its custom mapping for it to work correctly, at least in my experience.
For the EU server tests, the first stress test was with a single server. Yesterday however, we had both servers up, so it's likely you'll get both servers running too.
Hookay, going to close this one as it was mainly an announcement to try and get people's attention for the brief event. We can all shuffle back to random question/general discussion threads.
Which I apparently forgot to do. -_-
FFXI's community is about 80% more mature than most any other MMO's, so that should tell you a lot.
the lv 1-> 75 grinding of crabs and mandy's made me pretty rage filled by Lv 75, especially after 11 times within 3 years (oh god, lvling drg... THE RAGE).
By the lv 70's range you didn't have crybabies.. noo... you had elitests, emos, rage filled party.. that is ready to snap AT ANY MOMENT, if anyone dies.. "hey guys, gotta go, fish on fire" *warps out*. Now while the rest of your group waits.. for 15min.. or 45min.. an hour.. gritting their teeth drooling and clinging to the desk waiting for anything to happen... you just hope it ends... the madness! ( ゚Д゚)
Somebody signal the Badass alarm; we've got one right here!
Weeded out the crybabies? How about as bard? Real patient, huh? Took such a long time to get to 75. Man, I remember those long, arduous hours seeking and sitting around in shitty parties getting XP chain 2's on bard.
Oh wait. No I don't. I remember flying through to 75 in about 2 weeks' time. I do remember Drg taking forever if I wasn't partying with friends that I made through having a good rep (thank God). Something about massive disparities between job usefulness in a game that was entirely reliant on what you could offer to a group.
I also don't remember any crybabies being weeded out. I remember plenty of crybabies at 75. I remember them "crying" over CoP Missions; I remember them "crying" over the injustices involved in HNM botting; I remember them "crying" over the fact that the game had no meaningful PVP. I remember a lot of crying, so I don't really know what you're trying to say here.
The only thing that the grind to 75 "weeded out" were additional subs that could have been filling SE's coffers, due to a taxing, draining and ultimately boring experience. The fun became excelling in a shitty system (giving birth to many of the elitists that you seem to be praising with your post, against those damned pesky casuals, what with their bad gear and non-HQ sniper's rings and no suppanomimi on their ears!), and never the system itself, which is a terrible legacy to leave with your flagship MMO.
Somebody signal the unnecessary internet anger alarm...FFXI had the most mature endgame community of any prominent MMO I have played largely because of the obscene patience involved to accomplish anything of substance.
And on topic, I am playing the beta this weekend. Was kind of a last minute decision; is there any beta server that has a lot of BG folk on it?
You're gdamn right im a badass
not sure what you're angry about in this post but what ever. I was mainly commenting on the maturity lvl of the players and more of the fact that the grind pre-toau was atrocious. And that lolcasuals generally didn't make it to end game because of the grind alone. Wasn't because the whiteman and his elitism was keeping them down. The game itself was a fucking beating.
Come off the soap box
my bad kat im done tho!
I just can't see how "willingness to cheat to get ahead of a grind-centric system" = maturity, but whatever. The game wasn't hard. at. all. It was a grind.
Wrong thread for this, though.
