Sounds like a small amount, but there's a lot of weight behind a division of SE making an active decision to cut their profits by 5% all at once. SE was far more financially healthy around the time of Salvage bans.

Well think about it this way, if people got a slap on the wrist for clipper, thats pretty much telling them to knock it off and stop "cheating". If those who were temped then get caught doing the .dat change too, they could take it as "we warned you once and you didn't stop, now we will just perma you for not learning your lesson"

The STF is extremely lazy and/or innocuous anyway. I've reported one player who BLATANTLY clipped through the wall right infront of me(In sea he clipped from one side of Ix'MNK's spawn to the other side(which is the side I was in). Besides visually seeing him clip through the wall I know there's no way he could have gotten from the other Ix'MNK spawn to my Ix'Mnk Spawn in less than a minute, it takes quite a while to run between those two spawns and he clipped through the back because he was killing Eo'Aerns in the middle area a few moments prior to coming through the wall into the west spawn room. In any case it's been months since I reported him to the STF and he still plays.

I did. I was there for like 4 hours and I had one pop left and then he showed up with like 4 ppl from his LS and I asked them politely if I could pop once more before I go to sleep and they were rude+cock blocked my spawn like 3x in a row. When I /told their LS sack who was also there, that their WHM blatantly clipped through the wall instead of being respectful, he snapped at me with extreme rudeness, and continued clipping and spamming the ???. Honestly don't care if he clips through the wall but don't do it to cockblock others spawns and then be all shitty about it when you get caught.

i doubt there will be that much QQing. i for one simply sent out a text to everyone i know came on out NNI runs and warned them. shit my accounts not even active if they release a big enough patch worth coming back to ill look into it but atm ill wait for the banning to hit then see if i can log into my ffxi account after.

How many subscribers did they lose when they changed the payment method? Seems like a fair amount of people have continuous problems giving Square money, sometimes it is hard to believe that they aren't running a Springtime for Hitler scheme.

They also fixed that eventually though, given it took way longer than it should have, but that's SE for you.

There are people who still have trouble handing Square money. People in certain countries cannot pay through the system that they set up, also if you try to pay from a location too far from where your account is registered, you can get on a fraud list and never get taken off.

They DONT NEED hard evidence. SE can and will ban people for whatever the fuck they want. They can do that shit on a whim, whether you cheat or not, and thats 100% their right to do so. Holy shit, people have been banned no questions asked for gardening too much, do you really think they are going to sit down and have a goddamn trial where you guys can explain away your cheating? People have always known the risk of cheating (and of course renaming shit in the game to give yourself an advantage that other people don't have is cheating. Not an bug or a glitch or an exploit, it's cheating lol). If you get banned, oh well. Either give up FFXI or start over fresh like so many salvage people did. It's not like it's gonna take more than 6 months to completely regear your characters now a days.

But chat log they can't just write a script and ban those who fulfill the condition, they have to read chat log and look at it case by case, and that requires hard evidence on server side. So does salvage ban or flee tool ban, if you flee/salvage dupe it's hard evidence.

quit the game before that gear came out, So i didnt do any of the new Nyzul stuff yet. Going to get back in the game late August.

seriously, who the fuck is still innocent in FFXI? ecxept for the ones that played since the beginning ONLY on the PS2... and even those are not innocent, if they knew about the claimbots etc. of their LS and participated knewing it (guilt by association).
