My first planet was amazingly frustrating. It had poison pools instead of water, really deep pits that had no way out except to dig up and out, and trees that were made of plant fiber, not wood (which kinda screws up early crafting attempts). After getting destroyed over and over on this planet without any obvious means of getting further, I made a new guy and started on a different planet.
The second planet was much more reasonable. Regular water, wood trees, and normal pits instead of chasms, though it did have a very short day/night cycle and it appears nastier mobs come out at night. After exploring a bit, I came across a tower occupied by an NPC. He didn't say anything, but he drew his weapon when I got closer so I fucked him up and "moved in" to his (my) tower. Then I found an entrance to an underground dungeon. When I went down there, it was full of avian women with rifles, I had no chance. Turned out, since they had pits of lava in this dungeon, I was able to lure the avian women into those to kill them. The dungeon ended up being a prison (I think), with cells containing other avian women that bolted for the dungeon exit as soon as I opened their cells.
Very interesting game so far.
