Zikel is absurdly Elyos favored. Asmos fell so far out of favor that there was a huge faction incentive program through the game.

It doesn't help that Sunshine pretty much ran (runs?) the server. If they take their ball and go home there is a shitstorm of problems on the Elyos side and they are ruthless with their treatment of asmo players to the point that the community staff has had to take action on more than one occasion.

Hah, we used to have so much fun destroying Sunshine for the first 6 months but then it became really bad once most of Corvus and Flawless got bored and quit.

Does Reikou still play? Pulling names out from '09 here, jeez how time flies.

Thanks for info yeah I quit at that 5-6 months mark myself and it was basically Elyos only got stuff when Asmo let them have it so depending on your server that was either a lot or never

Oh god I remember that asshole killing me in the core for hours while I was like 46-48.

I thought the game did a lot of things right though. I like the risk vs reward with AP even though everyone got to X level and did PvE shit exclusively so they wouldn't die. I just wish they toned down the grind after 40 and I might have played it, along with many others, a lot more.

He was the best ranger when i quit. Being in full 40 pvp gear when everyone was in their 30's helped. Dude drove me crazy when i was farming the core for bloods solo. He was one of the few elyos to even bother going there. Crazy how times changed.

Today, like 5 people go to the abyss at any given time. Can be a great place to level.

I would have kept playing if it wasn't for the grind after 40. Plus I don't feel like gladiator was very fun by the higher levels.

The grind gets easier and easier all the time. They give out exp amulets like candy, added a ton of repeatable quests, increased quest exp considerably, etc. In 3.0 it's going to get even easier. I was leveling a cleric and hit the Abyss at 25. Just doing the basic quests when you first get there I got to 28 without even running training grounds. Plus with the mentor system you can have a high level player just destroy instances for you.

The grind got the best of me. I was ok with it at first and powered to 40 pretty quick, but after doing 5hr grinding stints at around 42 and hardly seeing my XP budge it was a pretty easy decision to just leave. The PvP wasn't all that great, and the restrictions on rifting were pretty annoying as well.

I've picked this back up now it's free, I couldn't handle the grinding either back when I played after release but I've been informed it's not half as bad as it used to be now up until 50 anyway that's high enough to enjoy the game, and it'll make the time pass for GW2 hahaha or maybe until FFXI's next content update mid-march.

Even though EU's restrictions are fucking horrible lol.

What have i done?! I'm taking advantage of the free 2 weeks to kill more time til GW2. I have a 52 asmo templar that i have no desire to touch since i hate that faction. Pretty much only rolled there to play with friends. Started a new elyos character on Zikel.

Is Glad still faceroll OP? I rolled an assassin even though i hear they're terrible now.
