It's a good thing vanafest is back on though. It always did it's job as a hype generator, and I think it was a bad move to skip it in previous years.

What in the ever-loving fuck would make you believe that considering the Near East and Far East are not even remotely similar? The Far East would be more 'East Asian' like Japan and such, its where Tenzen comes from buddy. Samurais and Ninjas and shit jumping out at your ass and looking all wrecked up by Emptiness and such.

If they could do something to recapture the launch of ToAU I'd definitely come back at least for a while, everyone getting the ship together and finally unlocking PUP was a pretty great experience for me.

If it's a few more lame-ass story addons or reskinned previous areas though, I'll pass. Too much good stuff coming up to be interested really, I expect GW2 will be out by then anyhow.

..I'm honestly hyped theres even going to be a Vanafest, but at the same time I expected this, considering its the 10th anniversary..

i hope they announce something really interesting. if expansion is ambitious, even add on with new zones would be good.

You never know. A full boxed expansion may be a worthwhile experiment for them. If it sells pretty well and brings back a good number of subscriptions, even if only short term, it'll be a success.

Given that casual throw-in of "relics level 99 or higher," I can only imagine what they're going to surprise us with (I don't actually think they're going to raise the cap again, but it really wouldn't surprise me). A new expansion or even just new jobs to play around with would be really welcome, in my opinion, but I kind of doubt it's going to happen.

The only big announcement I can actually expect is that they're lowering the monthly subscription fee. Level cap raise isn't happening (no main FF game that I remember has ever gone past level 99). MAYBE 2 new jobs. But a full on expansion? Yea, thats not gonna happen.

Unless they are making the game free to play, lowering the subscription won't bring in a lot of new players and will just cannibalize the amount of profit they are making off the current userbase. I think a new expansion is still in the realm of possibility, either that or the PS Vita port. Either way, they wouldn't be hosting a Vana'Fest unless they had something big to announce. I'm excite.
