    I still see the engi as a support class. Been watching a lot of vids and everytime an engi meets an enemy he needs to run away and cant 1on1

    New players that cant play etc, its the player not the profession.

    Do you have a favorite team strategy or composition?
    IC: I really like the split collapse strategy we often run with our “sandbag” engineer. Basically, the engineer holds one capture point with a thumper turret and a rifle turret placed far apart from each other. While the thumper turret is in the middle of the capture point, the player runs Smelling Salts. Using rifle and kiting in-between the turrets makes him really hard kill, and right before he goes down he drops Smelling Salts for a self rez. It’s not a very powerful build, but it can take a very long time to kill this engineer unless you use the trebuchet on this capture point or bring an overwhelming number of players. This allows us to reliably hold a capture point while the rest of the team pushes in. -- Isaiah Cartwright, Lead Systems Designer

    Was the conquest video really just to show how god awful that guy was at mesmer? Everyone who has played mesmer has just disappointed me. Maybe it's just the profession.

    You are doing this on purpose right? New profession no one knows how to play it, its the first time people touched it.

    The IGN guy wasn't even using his illusions. I mean, c'mon, that's the WHOLE purpose of the damned profession. The profession itself doesn't do much for me but when someone neglects even throwing out his illusions, the basis of the class, I just shake my head. I'm not trying to start something here, I'm actually curious as why that's the suggested video out of all of them.

    Maybe next time watch the vid first eh? The vids I posted is Izzy himself playing...

    I didn't see him run away from any 1vs1 and he only died once at the end when his team already won and he was fighting vs 3 reds. Then again, Conquest is not about 1vs1. It's about capping points & keeping them; much like JQ.

    Elementalist looks really difficult to be good at. That being said, do want. I love how all the classes play so differently; and even with different weapons they play differently!

    First MMO that's made me even consider rolling a mage type. The fact that you can move while casting has taken away what i've always hated about that archetype.
