What does it say about the college co-ed Susan Fluke [sic] who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex -- what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She's having so much sex she can't afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex.

I would suggest seeing the video, since it gives good context to what's been going on, particularly about the committee that was restricted to discussing how the laws affect religious freedom without listening to how religious doctrine damages women's health. The college girl was supposed to testify in that committee, but she was refused. Cue Limbaugh calling her a slut.

TL:DR - Obama contacted her and chastised Limbaugh. Pundits are speculating that this is going to be a big boost for Obama's election as it shows he's more than willing to defend women, especially considering many people are considering the GOP's recent actions as a "war on women".

I really didn't think I'd find myself ever saying this, and I think the language he used is absurd, but conceptually I agree with Rush here. I'm all for contraception being covered by workplace health plans, but not school ones.

The thing I really love about this whole contraception coverage thing is that the medical uses besides birth control that the pill has are totally ignored, especially by our oh so impartial and well informed mainstream media. It's no wonder Rush was so furious at someone for bringing that into the debate.
