People keep saying EME has stated they are going to add direct infamy penalties like the K-tera system. I'm just trying to find out where people are getting this. I've been unable to locate anything of the sort other than the source-less Q&A over on Tera PvP explained thread. Google turns up nothing but a thread linking back to that one on BG. It can be read both ways; just because they don't say "right now" doesn't mean that they aren't planning it. Likewise, to say they don't want to implement any unnecessary penalties can be read as you see it, that they don't want to put in penalties period, or it can read in a way that says there are penalties that fall under two categories, one being necessary and the other being unnecessary. It's rather ambiguous.

Still, I just can't see the community being able to successfully police itself with no external rule set involved; I have no faith in the masses being able to restrain themselves from griefing and attempting to kill anything under the sun that's outside of a safe zone without some form of uncontrollable detriment (i.e. the infamy debuffs seen in KTera) being involved.

Why should they add restraints or debuffs for PvPing on a PvP server?!

It's people like you, QQing on the forums because *shock* PvP happened on a PvP server, that end up watering everything down and ruining PvP for the people who enjoy it.

If you only want consensual/fair/regulated PvP, or if you're going to get butt-hurt every time someone kills you, then you don't belong on a PvP server. Please save us both a headache, and roll PvE.

There's a big difference between PvP as a method of recreation/fun, and PvP as a method of grieving, and that's the point I'm trying to make.

If you want to attack someone that you come across at random while out questing or doing whatever, then all the more power to you, and I don't really care. That's a risk that everyone takes when they play on a PvP server and they're outside of a safe zone.

However, if you want to attack someone who's an absurd number of levels below you, and you're inside an area whose overall level is designated for them and not you (i.e. ganking a Lv11 in the Fey Forest, while you're at Lv30+), and your sole goal for even being in said area is just to kill people who have no fighting chance against you? Yea, that's not PvP; that's just being a scrub, and that's what I don't approve of.

If they took the Infamy guidelines they introduced in CBT3, and then added the penalty scale that is outlined in the PVP FAQ thread; I'd sign off on it. Allows reputation to police normal/high level activities, and lowbie gankers have to fight through the kick to the nuts debuff. Maayyyybe code in something along the lines of not being able to attack those 20/25/30 levels under you, but nah.

You're trying to make Tera's PvP servers even more fucking carebear than WoW.

One reason that restricting PvP is even less warranted in Tera is simple:
GvG rivalry. If I see someone from a rival Guild, I don't give a shit what level they are, they're going to die.

Every time one of you posts some ridiculous crybaby shit about how PvPing on a PvP server should be discouraged/inhibited/punished in some way, I will have the same, logical response for you:
If you only want consensual, fair PvP, you can get that all day long on a PvE server. Please roll there.

Why are you people so against rolling PvE when you clearly like those rule-sets better?

A friend of mine thinks it's just so you can say that you play on a PvP server lol. Which, I guess, probably sounds about right when I consider the personality types that would join a PvP environment and then cry about getting ganked.

Don't jump in the ring if you're not prepared to get hit. It's that simple.

I would like GvG action, but otherwise /vote PVE. I hate getting ganked by half a dozen asshats 10 lvls higher than me. That shit sucks.
