Didn't they say that GvG would make its way to PvE now? I remember reading that which basically 100% clinched me for going PvE now.

The GvG mention was indeed within the context of RP servers, but it was done so in a way that seemed separated from the RP server idea itself. Regardless of what was intended, we have no new information on this yet and we are closing on the last CBT so who knows what actualy will happen.
I'm going to fuel a bit the argument however:
First, I don't like ganking specialy in the griefing context where some asshat comes and kills people X levels under that cannot fight back. I find it an absurd activity meant only for sociopaths.
That said, I like it that people have the option to do it. It's a simple matter of freedom, really: when a person is free to be a sociopathic asshat, I'm free to kick his ass in the name of fairness. This system allows me to play the hero if I so desire.
I believe the idea behind extending the outlaw timer for killing lowbies is well intentioned: the outlaw is now a target for all the server and it should remain as such, blocking his way to safety (i.e., removing the outlaw status), allowing me to go out there and find him unprotected.
In practice, this still needs tunning as they can hide within safe zones and I cannot do anything about it. At least, however, they cannot simply wait a minute and remove the status.
The other kind of ganking, which is basicly getting rolled by a group, is really something that isn't even worth giving much consideration. I dislike being rolled over, but it's part of the fun. You never know when a group will be there deciding to make an otherwise boring escort quest into something exciting.
That said, I'm still a little "carebear" about my pvp. I utterly dislike losing progress for being unfairly killed in PvP. Currently TERA does not do such a thing, so I'm tremendously happy with it, but systems like Aion's AP (pvp points) where you'd lose tremendous amounts of points even if you simply had no chance to even run away (say, 4v1) destroy my enjoyment of the open world pvp.

if EME wants regular and full open world pvp, then yes for sure i am going to a pve server. i have better shit to do than feed the asshats who seem to feel it's their god given right to repeatedly kill people 20 levels below them with no consequences whatsoever. this is exactly what has been going on since they put the PVP servers in the CBT.
the only reason i considered going to a pvp server was because of the information senji put out in the above thread. if this isn't going to be implemented, i'm not going to bother with a PvP server, pure and simple. from the feedback in that thread alone, it seems like most folks posting here won't bother, either. furthermore, if they're not putting the gvg function on the PvE servers (i am not going through the utter retardation that is every account of an RP server i've ever read) then i doubt i am going to bother with the game at all. honestly, what's the point?
clarification on exactly wtf their plan is going to be is severely needed, because the information they've put out is somewhat contradictory to what they're saying now and how the CBT have been handled.

there will ALWAYS be more asshats then decent people in a MMO, especially on a server that allows asshats to run rampant and almost unchecked so i'll be going RP server if GvG is being put into that.
I've played Aion, Lineage2, WoW pvp servers and other open pvp but I don't have the time or patience really to deal with it anymore. It's like playing a CoD FFA map nowadays.
Ofcourse you are entitled to have whatever reason to play the game but... are you saying you want to play tera to have organized, consensual open world pvp?

i dunno what's strange about it exactly? gvg's not exactly strict open world pvp. i'd like to level without being bent over the nearest rock every time i got to a quest hub by random assholes. the outlaw penalties and GvG were what decided most people that i saw posting in that other thread to roll PvP server. if they're not implementing any of that, then no, it's not what i'm interested in. it doesn't seem to be what most folks posting here are interested in, either.
Funny, I've had more problems with players I cannot pk at quest hubs/exp areas in various mmos (PVE/same faction) than getting ganked.
He's talking about blood rivalry between guilds, kill on site, GvG declaration cooldown/activation be damned.
