Ah yes, well he confirmed that the two cursna rings are 100 or less.

Not that I'm doubting you, I just wanted to read these updates notes myself because it seems dumb that SE would shit all over 350k worth of GP items with a 15k GP item, but there was no updates in november. I checked the december, sept (october was just adding the ENM KCNM fights) and june notes and found nothing related to this, via ctrl+f for "mog" or "stall".
Anyway, I really don't see a path forward for Alchemy. Every synth that we have requires Ethereal Squama, which was 1.2mil on Lakshmi *before* the update even. Now it is sitting steady at 1.5. High priced recipes are a little bit frightening, but I am more scared by the lack of anything worth making:
1) Hexed Coif - Abjuration is difficult/impossible to obtain at the moment, NQ version is worthless and HQ version is sparingly useful maybe for jobs/reasons that people don't care about anymore.
2) Hexed Doublet - Abjuration is difficult to obtain at the moment (Watcher), NQ version is worthless and HQ version is potentially useful for some of the jobs that can wear it.
3) Hexed Gages - Abjuration is obtainable and the NQ and HQ are both very useful for summoner. Probably our highest velocity synth at the moment.
4) Hexed Slops - Abjuration is obtainable, but these pretty much suck in both the NQ and HQ forms.
5) Hexed Nails - Abjuration is barely obtainable (Legion tier 2?). Great MAcc feet in both the NQ and HQ form, but mages don't seem to care as much about MAcc builds now that they aren't out soloing everything.
Gages are the one thing we can make above level 103 that will sell at all, and they will probably sell pretty slowly. That synth is the Cursed Dalmatica to our level 99 clothcraft. If they don't add new crafts, it will be like leveling from 99 to 100 Clothcraft on Cursed Dalmaticas . . . except for 5-10 levels instead of just one. I am fairly sure I have four stacks of Super Cermet on a deactivated mule, and I'm considering paying a buck to grab them.
Thats kinda how I feel about smithing. Nothing of real value to skill on after Adaman cuirass is capped. (103)
I actually HQed the 110 guild item, sold it on the AH and decided to wait to even bother skilling beyond 100. I capped smithing about 7 years ago. Pretty annoying they didn't think 100-110 through very well.
If we get lucky their may be some good skill up synths from 110-120 that we can skill on easily with the +10 we got from gear/stall.
I dont know if its been mentioned, but blenmot rings cap at 102...showing up on the full list NPC when I dinged 102.
1-4 NPC is offering Winged Balance, DI Ferrule, and added since I hit 102: Hexed Wristbands.
Does anyone know where Staghorn Coral drops?
My best guess would be Voidwatch but some items have had dual sources so... yeah.
It has been selling since the 28th on Lakshmi, so it's not exclusive to Provenance at least and likely comes from a tier 1 (I know someone who has sold one, but he's afk). It seems pretty rare considering...
Anyone know where Ormolu ingot drops? Only one sold on server no info. And god damn all these recipes with Freya's tears
It drops from Voidwatch, probably everywhere at a really low rate.
Also, if people are skilling up in the 90s at the moment it would be nice if you could check recipe levels exactly using the 10-below engaged-crafting trick:
1) Get the mats for a synth that's probably 10-15 levels above you.
2) Go engage a monster and use try to synth it (the synth will auto-break but you'll only lose the crystal if successful, or it won't let you synth if you're more than 10 levels under).
3) Adjust your skill until it lets you synth (you won't lose mats).
Assuming none of the recipes are over 110, it should be possible for someone to test all of their levels exactly with the mats and Stall/2 armors from level 90.
Wait wait wait I thought all autobreaks resulted in full loss. I can try but being 98 might limit it especially since it's looking like only 1-2 recipes might be that high. Also bg wiki goldsmithing page seems broke. It has like 4 recipes on it total...
It is full loss if you break because of zoning or being cast on, but if you break because you're engaged you just lose the crystal. I went out and burned a stack of light crystals last night to make sure I was remembering correctly and lost 0 distilled water.
Honestly, I'm kinda wondering if I can get skillups doing this within 3 levels of the synth cap =p.
I'm pretty sure if something like that was viable, SE would have it patched immediately.
use a mule and try it out on a cheap lv1-5 synth then
I found the Hexed Bliault recipe on FFXIAH from Zodan (missed it earlier). That looks like by far the easiest clothcraft skillup synth.
Also, because Nynja couldn't get it at 99 I am assuming it is level 110.
Do you actually have to be engaged? I thought the mob just had to hit you.
Of course part of the problem with that method is you can't see the recipes until you are within 10 and a few seem to be missing from wikis and this thread. Actually forget seem I've gotten some in neither lol
You can not receive skillups while engaged. They changed that in like 2002-2004. You can find it in the update notes I think. However, the engaged to check recipe level trick still works.
