You wanna talk factions with no credibility because they are full of nothing but midcarders? Aces N' Eights lol
Exactly. Evolution was two guys who had it (Flair and HHH) teaming up with guys they saw potential in and making them stars. That's a reason the nWo tanked so hard, they never made any new stars. Stables and teams should be designed to enhance talent. Accentuate the positives and hide the negatives. Look at the Hart Foundation: Jim Neidhart was a wacky, larger than life, kind of guy who was sluggish and unskilled in the ring. Bret Hart was an ace in the ring who didn't have the confidence to deliver a convincing promo. You put them together and you have a legendary tag team. Bret gets somebody to help him craft his persona and Jim gets somebody to make him look good. Eventually you get the breakout star (even if Bret never quite mastered delivering a great promo).
The same goes for managers. Got a great talent who doesn't have a knack for cutting a promo? (Brock Lesnar) Put him with somebody with natural charisma! (Heyman)
When they finally do reveal all the masked Aces N' Eights guys. I'm pretty sure its gonna be D'Lo who is gonna be the leader. He ain't no Hogan or HHH
That's my big beef with TNA. When they first came out I was really impressed at their homegrown talent, but I stopped watching or paying much attention as they kept scooping up scraps from WWE. Just because you recognize a guy doesn't mean he should be a big deal.
Really I just miss WCW cruiserweights. There's nothing like them on the mainstream anymore. Oddly enough I can't get ROH here either (odd being that I live 10 miles from Philly).
I find that odd, don't you have a Sinclair station? I only get ROH because I get Buffalo stations. I live near Toronto.
Nope, it's totally absent in New Jersey. I'm not even sure if a Philly station is running it anymore? Oddly enough, when TNA came to Philly they played a theater venue that must have been very strange to see a wrestling event in.
I think their first big wwe signing was christian? "wow hes drawing, hes popular" (in his prime btw), so they then start signing old timers lol
TNA seems to be largly all over the place with their storytelling even compared to the worst days of the WWE. The only story telling situation i can think of that was worse was in the end times of WCW and them just hitting the reset button one week.
There is talent there but it seems largely wasted.
I would like it if ROH was on TV here. I do hear a lot of good of the talent there and i know that its where a lot of names today 1st made a name for themselves.
Kurt Angle I believe came first but yea. And TNA had a rep long before by killing non home grown talent. Go look for that raven jarret match I linked a few pages back. I've never seen a crowd shit on an ending like that before. Raven not getting that title is what killed TNA for me.
I agree with you that I think someone like Jarrett will be introduced later on as the mastermind because this group does need at least one star. But the masked guy who has been represented as the group's spokesperson is D'Lo if you look really closely. It's the one guy who always wears a black hoodie.
I am gifting myself tickets to a WWE live event that is coming to town during the first week of January. Advertised matches include Cena vs. Ziggler and Team Hell No and Ryback vs. The Shield. I am excite.
Anyone notice the Knees2face shirt? Looks like a upcoming promo of Knee2face v Boots2ass lol.
He wore it last week
Del Rio's face killed me
Yeah... "accidentally"...
