Idk how often you guys follow or read anime blogs but there's a tournament between all of them starting April 15th. If you guys do or are interested, be sure to check out the blogs since you might some nice or neat ones out there that you might enjoy and start following. It's worth a look, so please check it out and I hope you all participate!

Here's a post on my blog out it: http://avvesione.wordpress.com/2012/...where-to-vote/

And the Tournament homepage where voting takes place: http://aniblogtourney.wordpress.com/

    Thanks, hope you enjoy!

Ouch, not even a reply or anything. Just curious, do people here even read or check out anime blogs at all or just only talk and read about it here? I would've thought there'd be some talk about it here since there have been a number of good blogs already appearing in the tournament but it doesn't appear to be so. Or do people only read the most popular blogs out there and skip the small ones?

The only anime blog I read is yours, otherwise not really. Most anime blogs I find randomly are pretty stupid and focus on silly shit.

Usually if I'm reading an anime blog it's for a specific entry and not as a regular reader. Other than that I just keep up with fansub groups and use BG for reviews and discussion. Have to say congrats to your blog, though, you're the 3rd google result for "anime season review"!

Ah, thanks, that means a lot to me but I'm sure there are some others you'd like, too. Maybe you should wait until the latter rounds since they'll all be good ones then.

I don't actually talk about OP but I do read it. If you wanna read blogs that follow OP, I've already found a few in the tournament. Try out: shonenbeam.com

Thanks for sharing your prespective. That's how most readers are, I feel, so it's hard to predict or attract them through any normal means. I guess being third on google's search helps lol (didn't realize I was up that high but that's pretty awesome... kinda wish it went to a category page rather than specific post though).

Interesting. Can you explain what exactly is an anime blog?

I mean, do write about the characters within them, or the story elements of a specific anime, or just maybe like episode reviews?

Basically, I wanted to read your articles, but not right now, I'm too sleepy, will do so at work tommorow =p

But I'm thinking of dedicating a section of my blog to anime too, but only stuff I personally like, and I planned to write about more indepth on certain bits of anime, just for readers to look at. I'm writing it in such a way to attract people who might not even consider anime to hopefully find it interesting. Would what I am doing be considered be (partially) an anime blog? Despite me not covering probably as much as a dedicated one.

That's essentially all it is, it can be an episodic review of a show, a review of the whole thing, impressions, shit about characters you like etc. The majority of them are episode reviews though.

So yeah, what you plan to do would be an anime blog.

You can do whatever you want with an anime blog and if you look at those in the AniBlog Tourney, you'll see all different types and styles and content and information. Whatever you do that's anime related whether it's on the anime itself or the news or ideas or your opinions, it'll be an anime blog.

What Ulmega said was correct and what it sounds like you're doing would be considered an anime blog. It doesn't matter how dedicated you are, how much you write, what you know, or how much you watch... if you're writing anime, then that part is an anime blog. Maybe one that isn't full time or primarily anime but it'd still be anime blogging.

Though there hasn't been too much interest here or in the tournament in general, the match my blog is in is open for voting. Here is a link to the poll on the AniBlog Tourney site.

I'm up against an excellent blog in Rabbitpoets, so be sure to check them out before making your decision. Also, here is a link to my post with some details on my blog in general for those of you who are new to it. Remember to vote for what you believe is the better blog or the one you'd rather read. The poll closes Sunday, May 6th at 20:00 GMT (4:00pm EDT, 1:00pm PDT) so if you plan to vote, make sure you do so before then.

Thank you all for your support and I hope you are able to gain something, either a new blog to follow or an engaging article to read, through this tournament. We're trying to get more readers involved in participating in the tournament, so you visiting the blogs and voting for your favorite is appreciated.
