Here's the data with 400 data points. That's still a small data set, but it begins to give us an idea. In the far left column, the bold numbers 1-4 indicate the grade used (1 is white, 2 is green, etc). Under those in the left column are the enchant level before attempt. The middle column is the percentage pass/fail rate. The last is the number of attempts. Again keep in mind that this does not account for higher pass rates at lower tiers.

Sometimes, I think.... the use of golds/blues/greens/whites is questionable.. as its all chance.. and possibly the same rate of chance.

People have gotten +8 and even +9 during the day if the enchanting exploit using whites in under 20 tries.

Really makes ya wonder sometimes.... was the "gold gear is best chance" a marketing ploy to make people rich... or tested and proven fact by some group of koreans doing the same as we are doing here? O_o

That's exactly what I was wondering regarding the recent exploit. I'd like to know the success rate of +7/8/9 using non-golds as sacrifice items. Of course, this is assuming that the use of normal alkahests over refined had zero influence on the success rate of +7/8/9 vs +1/~/6.

Well, that's the purpose of this thread. It really depends on the % spread between the item types. If using a gold weapon is only a 10% chance, for +8 - +9, and a white item is a 1% chance, then yes, you can have people get lucky and white pass a +9. However, if gold is a 20% chance, and white is a 1% chance, it's a lot less likely to ever see a white pass +9. RNG is still RNG though....
