Been using this build now post Smokescreen nerf for farming Act IV champion packs on my DH:

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...XYV!ZYe!YcbZZc

It works out fairly well. Tons of CC via fear and roots to help you in kiting. The only packs I have issues with are the ones with Reflect and Invulnerable Minions.

Starting to guess Farming Inferno/etc+ is about binding and kiting a lot huh?

What's weapon type do you use? I see the third trait is Critical +3%, There's a trait i think that offers Bows:+15% Damage, Crossbows:+25% Crit Damage(?), and 1-Handed Xbow something as well... Its what i use right now, But I'm also using a 2-handed bow, and I'm only level 38 :X (ish?)

    Edit:
    "Archery"
    Bows: +15% Damage
    Xbow: +50% Critical Hit Damage
    1Xbow: +15% Critical Hit Chance

Yeah, I dunno why I had Sharpshooter in there. Updated link, also ended up replacing Elemental Arrow Skulls with Nether Tentacles simply because the latter does too much damage not to use.

Tried out this build in act4 normal last night, and was dying A LOT more than I was with the spectral blades build I was using. Might be changing back tonight, the spec blades build I was using just seemed to have a lot more utility and wasn't nearly as squishy.

Chain Lightning and Chaos Nexus are much better at keeping you alive while still doing good damage. Chaos Nexus will pick off any weak mobs that manage to get through your stronger nukes pretty much automatically, and if it looks like you're about to get surrounded but are out of AP, you can just hit the closest enemy with Chain Lightning and it will tend to arc to the things that are about to push your shit in. Honestly, in normal you don't even need defensive abilities, you can just run away a little and drop a Blizzard, cast Disintegrate until you're out of AP, then use Chain Lightning to pick off anything that survives.

Oh, and definitely give Venom Hydra a shot when it unlocks. It doesn't really sound all that impressive in the description, but it's retardedly powerful, definitely a mainstay in any build I'm trying out.

    its my WD tank setup.
highly gear dependent, but then again it IS inferno. I use the strongest Life on Hit + Life Leech weapon I can afford, then pile on defensive stats as much as I can, including INT where I can.

every skill in my book is basically defensive.
    firebomb for health leeching,
soul harvest is the most important for damage increase. its a great health restoration move too.
zombie dogs die pretty fast, so I usually summon them to blow up straight away.
acid cloud to weaken the enemies attacks + a bit of health leech.
and spirit walk to break out of CC statuses and get out of a tight situation.

the general strat is hoarding all the mobs together to slowly AoE to death, which is somewhat trickier in inferno, but i might adjust it along the way.
my biggest problem isnt surviving but dealing damage fast enough lol

mainly farming hell for money and better gear first... and can pretty much straight tank everything there.
edit: oh except desecrators, arcane and fire chains, which require some degree of movement. plague not so much.
i've read about that life on hit thing. it seems though that rain of toads rune has a crazy hit rate, i'd probably try that over firebomb even though i freakin love roll the bones when i use it haha.

just hit act 2 inferno, mobs are freakin night and day compared to act 1 haha. currently use this http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...dQR!ZVU!acZZbZ

21k hp 22k damage with a two hander and still i don't think it's good enough for act 2 yet. /sigh more farming act 1 :X

im pretty sure it would have a better hit rate, being as the damage dealt is of a higher % on initial hit and on poison ticks.. which the life on hit appears to scale with.. however, given the way im geared i wouldn't be able to sustain it indefinitely without mana depletion, which is an issue for me.. because for elite packs i could be tank holding them for quite some time..

that said, it does do 2 things at once for me. fast damage and it procs bad medicine at the same time. seeing as I don't really find my gargantuan useful I might swap that out in favor of rain of toads for faster dmg and life back when i need it

i'm curious, if people are playing solo why bother using bad medicine over jungle fortitude ?

im using both.. but as far as i can tell, i don't think jungle fortitude even works. it doesn't show up anywhere in the equipment details.

I use both. But then again I'm still in A1 nightmare and play with pets.

Anyone have luck playing a Barb in Inferno.

I'm hearing of successful tank builds that work. High resistances, stack VIT, +health on hit, etc

I was playing with a Barb that was stacking that type of gear and he was nearly invincible on Act 1 Inferno. We were zombie'ing some champion packs but he was still doing quite well. 4x of him would've been pretty unstoppable. Idk.

Also I am getting dominated in Inferno as Monk. Having a real tough time. Have approx 40k HP and 7.5k DPS. Not sure where I can improve without investing millions into pieces, and I don't have that kind of gold to purchase items. Should I farm Hell with gold+% gear or what? I don't see how people are making millions and millions.

I just want to say it's dumb luck for a lot of people. Find a few decent items you can't use, then maybe it'll AH for 300k+. I've personally found 2 Tal Rasha's body armors. Gave one to a friend, sold the other for 700k this evening since it got a shitty DEX mod on it along with +60 resists and a nice +armor. Maybe could've done more, but there were probably at least 20 on AH for both higher values and better secondary stats.

I've seen some talk about running Hell Azmodan or the like with GF gear and maybe getting 100k/hr. I don't find that particularly exciting or even motivating if you consider some people want 2m+ for things. By the time someone farms that, it's probably gone, anyway. Some things I can understand the prices, like a good DH armor having high all resists, DEX, and VIT. A lot of shit is just stupidly overpriced right now between a mix of rushing capitalists and a false sense of demand. I'm probably shooting myself in the foot at times, but even when I grossly undercut something, sometimes it gets returned to me.

Frankly, best thing you can do is hope you have a friend in a higher difficulty/act that can pass down unwanted items. Friend threw me an 800+ DPS crossbow this evening. While I dislike the attack speed on it, it was a significant upgrade. I'd love to get a comparable hand crossbow, but it's just not in the budget and I kinda refuse to treat the game like a grindfest even though the past few days for me have been nothing but running A1 Inferno hoping for improvements.

Scalpers reselling bargain bin items might argue money making is easy, but that's gambling to me, especially with the 10 slot limit and no means to cancel an auction. At the moment, I don't see the RMAH actually doing that well. Some might do okay with it, but it'll probably more with gold or the craft mats.

I purchased a full Gold Finding set and ran through Act 3 hell. Made maybe 150k on straight gold drops, and another 150k on AH drops. Are there even "end game" equips that can drop from Hell mode? Or is all that stuff found in Inferno? Like Tal'Rasha's, green armors, etc? It was a lot easier in Hell mode through after playing some Inferno for a bit. Was able to purchase a 750 DPS weapon (playing a two handed monk), so that wasn't bad I guess. But with how hard Inferno is it really didn't make a huge improvement in my performance. Considering just rerolling as Sorc and starting this grind fest all over again.

Twinking out is cheep now and with gems you can blast through probably to mid nightmare in an average play session if you don't let yourself get distracted.

Late Act 3 or Act 4 stuff may be serviceable in A1 Inferno, but basically there are things that will only drop there and beyond. My main beef with Inferno's itemization in grinding A1 is that I'm finding too much crap I wouldn't even use in A1 Hell. For as much as some want to bitch about the AH ruining challenge/difficulty, the alternative of grinding everything out yourself is neither fast nor a guarantee of getting what you're after. Sadly, you'll get people justifying that's how the way the game should be and I'll can really say in kind is to tough it out and pray.

Good thing about the AH is that its optional. Those complaining about difficulty shouldn't care how others play if all they want is their own challenge... they can avoid the AH Entirely.

Personally I avoided the AH until act 3, And picked up a good weapon. From there, I've used it for a few things, but mostly just for Magic find gear so i can farm my own stuff

What's the easiest way to do this? I mean I was searching for socketed items for Sorc, the lowest level items I could find are like lv.20 armors. That's like a solid 5-6 hours playtime no? I was also looking for EXP+ gear, that starts at like level 10 and up as well.

I have a shit ton of perfect square gems, I can upgrade them but I really don't feel like spending the gold to make anything higher right now, it's already 20k to make perfect squares ~.~
