Managed to put the whole thing together for like 6-8M gold if you count the synths (I refuse to use RMAH). I can do MP6 well solo; MP7 is manageable but too slow. In a good balanced party, I've swung up to MP8. I'd suggest trying you hand at some shoulder and glove synths; mine are pretty good and it only took like 20 synths. I keep synthing them though; would love a higher AR/STR roll on my shoulders with %Life. Trifecta on the gloves is everyone's goal, but I seem to have a better chance of winning Powerball on Saturday.

And if you play, add me with "BG" in the message; Wulfgang#1431. I have like 2 active friends who I just met through random grouping and they weren't retarded.

No, you want resists, too. My formula might be out of date since my little code string I have was made before the MP update/Inferno nerf. If I were to crudely explain things, armor serves as the initial damage dampener with resists then further reducing that damage (hence an actual Physical resist for physical attacks instead of just armor). In my earlier 6000:600 example, Armor offers a 65.57% reduction to the initial hit. Resists are then another 65.57%, due to the formula, of the remaining 34.43%, resulting in 65.57+22.57=88.15% reduction.

Assuming no armor cap, though, 12000 armor with, say, 200 resist should net 87.28% reduction. Going to 13000 would be 88.07%, but if you went 12000:300 you'd jump to 89.35% instead. It's a bit tricky to say there's a diminishing return since the two stats work against each other. In turn, why I generalize more that maintaining a 10:1 ratio is a safer bet. You could go lop-sided on resists and get similar results to the 12000:200 with 3500:950, but pulling that off would basically require high Resist rolls in all slots.

Can't find the chart I used back when, the formula I'm running looks something like this:
Armor Rating (AR): Armor / ((50 * Mob Level) + Armor)
Resist Rating (RR): Resist / ((5 * Mob Level) + Resist)
    Combined Value (CV): 1 - ((1-AR) * (1-RR))
    Final Value (FV): CV + ((1-CV) * (.01 * (Passive + Shrine + Melee or Ranged + Elite))

What I don't know is where Block factors in. Either way, the Passive/Shrine/etc. stuff assumes you use 30 instead of .3. As such, if your CV is 90%, have 30% passive, 30% shrine, 5% melee/range, 5% elite DR, the 90% should become 97%. If you had 95% BEFORE the additional DR, it'd be 98.5%. Right now, I don't think it's possible to "break" the formula with current in-game affix/bonuses. as 25k:2.5k is 98.75%.

Here is what it looks like at around 12kish, but the enemies on MP1 aren't my level aren't they level 63? If so that 80% isn't actually legit, so I don't know how much it actually cuts from them.

    Spoiler: show

That's my HC char if you are wondering why certain stats are so low, but yeah that is the reason I'm trying to gear for maximum survival while still dealing enough DPS, playing on HC.

Yeah, I'm getting 79.84%. Might be a rounding thing or even a breakpoint, might be a formula tweak relative to the Inferno adjustment... like where the 5% melee reduction comes in. Could try to figure it out, but I'm honestly too lazy.

Defensively, you're more than adequate for MP1 aside from no LS or LoH. I wouldn't try much past MP2 with that damage, though.

Well I get a ton of healing with my Rend bloodlust rune, that's how I live in big crowds, if shit gets too bad I just leap away. That and I have a bunch of buffs to globes and potions so they typically keep me going np, and 95k HP helps a lot too. I don't actually use the stats I posted, I was just doing that to show the 12k armor.

I normally use weapon master instead of tough as nails and the dodge rune for warcry instead of the armor one. I went out and fought some shit with the 12k armor and it seemed about the same as my usual damage intake so I probably won't use it for now since I lose 10% crit doing it.

My ultimate goal is to be able to survive until I DC if my power goes out or I lose my net. That's a hard goal to reach though since I don't even know how long it takes on D3 to pop out.

Tempted to go for an Andariel's Visage; can get sub-10% additional Fire damage, 8 IAS, CC 4.5%, socket, and 160 STR 1-2M depending on the day. Mempo with same CC%/IAS? 1-1.5 billion. Yeah, the innate %Life and AR on Mempo is great, but that price difference is obscene.

I actually asked that same question the other day to someone, why is Mempo so expensive...

I got this thing for 360k and DPS wise it is better than any mempo I'll probably ever be able to afford, just the no socket was kinda meh. I can see how it would be better to not take more fire damage, and have innate life, but the price difference is insane.

Only str & dex mempos with crit chances are super expensive, the int ones are much much cheaper.

Do try searching those mempos without crit chances but with around 250++ of your main stats, they cost much much more reasonable. What I do is, when fighting those desecrator/vortex mobs, swap out my andariel's.
