Well, Alucard was born in the original timeline a long, long while after Mathias became Drac, so he's never been incapable of having kids. The way he seems to look though, I could certainly buy into the idea of them making him some sort of mirror image of Gabriel (tied into the title?), but they really wouldn't have to do any back-flips with the plot to make him stay as Gabriel's post-Drac son.

I'm confused by the trailer, is Trevor Simon's son or Gabriel's? What's Simon role in all this?

Trevor is Gabriel's son and Simon is Trevor's son. Simon wields the Vampire Killer during his playthrough.

Did they actually call it the Vampire Killer? I'd only heard it referred to as a combat cross. I suppose it'll be interesting to see how they work out the whole Whip of Alchemy to Vampire Killer thing inside of LoS's timeline, or if someone is just going to make a magic whip and name it the Vampire Killer.

Trevor uses a Combat Cross w/ Light and Dark Magic, like Gabriel. Simon is going to use the actual whip during his time in the game. Going to assume its because of Trevor's doing in his half of the game.

Eh... It looks to me like it plays pretty much like a 3D (brawler) while just being locked onto a path. Blargh.

Hell yes the game is. I believe it's cheap now so don't have to worry about spending much. The QTE's aren't really annoying in this. Game will kick your ass.
