FIFTY NINE DOLLARS for a PC game? I thought PC games were a good 10-20 dollars less than console counter parts.

WiiU release coming Fall 2014
http://www.vg247.com/2014/04/14/watc...ting-suggests/Watch Dogs hasn’t been officially dated for Wii U, but Ubisoft’s own Uplay store has put a tentative window on the delayed
Over on Uplay North America, Watch Dogs Wii U is listed for “Fall 2014″.
Nintendo Everything has a screenshot if the listing is unavailable in your territory.
The Wii U version of Watch Dogs was delayed in February, and Ubisoft had given no indication of a release window prior to this listing.
Unfortunately, the Australian arm of Uplay inaccurately has the Wii U version down for May 27 release alongside the PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions, so the digital storefront probably isn’t the most reliable indicator.

Fall 2k14 gives them until the holiday season.
We've seen zero footage of that version.
They aren't going to show it at E3.
Sent to die, confirmed.

Man this game started off being so promising but the more I hear about it the more cautious I get.
This stuff happens in all industries all the time, especially the game industry. Gaming "journalists" complaining about it is so fucking hypocritical.
This is getting to be a bigger load of Molyneux every time I look.
This game is riding on the power of presentation anyways. The phone bribery just tells me how unconfident they are of the final product. Either the game is hollow as shit or poorly executed with bad mechanics/AI. I don't even think "paid reviews" even have the same impact anymore. Independent reviewers(professional or individual) carry alot of influence nowadays.
To keep things in perspective, this game is more than six months late, and likely many tens of millions of dollars over budget. The sales target was 7 million back when it was in PS4 launch bundles. I can understand the pressure Marketing is under to now exceed those sales targets, including bribing the shit out of bloggers and magazine editors everywhere.
Just adding another vector to the equations, the quality of the end product often matters very very little to either the critical or commercial reception of AAAA titles. Just look at GTA V.
//n/Dark Clouds eBook
http://watchdogs.ubi.com/watchdogs/e...ook/index.aspxToday, Ubisoft announced the eBook Watch_Dogs //n/Dark Clouds, inspired by the highly anticipated video game Watch Dogs. Authored by John Shirley, the eBook is a direct sequel to the events of the game and will allow fans to further explore the world of Watch Dogs with an all new story. The eBook is a first for Ubisoft, as it was conceived inhouse and will be released exclusively via digital channels.
John Shirley, prolific author of over 30 books and short stories such as A Song Called Youth, is a known figure in the hacker community and is a pioneer of the cyberpunk movement, and therefore is a natural fit to author the Watch Dogs™ eBook. Having unprecedented access to our Montreal studio dev team and writers, he has recreated the atmosphere of Watch Dogs™, into his thriller, that combines high-tech crimes with both new and known characters.
“Working on Watch Dogs was enormously interesting to me because its world offers the convergence of cyberpunk and the edgy tech reality of our times; it all plays out with action and energy against the inner city backdrop that I thrive in” said John Shirley. “With hack tech in one hand and gun in the other, Aiden Pearce is a believable fusion of hacker and action hero who deliberately slips between the cracks of society to relentlessly pursue his agenda. The novel introduces Mick Wolfe, an ex-military, who get caught in a dangerous game in Chicago’s hyper connected and violent underground. Working with Thomas Geffroyd and Kevin Shortt at Ubisoft to develop the book was a rocking experience – Ubisoft is right out there on the frontier of videogame development. I couldn’t ask for more inspiration”.
Watch_Dogs //n/Dark Clouds will be available in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish at game's release on May 27, 2014. It will be available in two digital formats: an upgraded e-book version with interactive elements including videos and image and a classic e-book.
The driving aspect of the game looks insufferable, especially in a multiplayer setting. Feels like a lifeless version of GTA.
Yea those driving mechanics reminded me of sleeping dogs driving. gta 4 driving at least had some physics involved, all the cars had weight to them, and roll, which of course caused curbs to be super op, but once you got used to them you could predict how each one handled.
he wasn't a particularly good driver though either. i guess lifeless is a pretty good word to describe the handling, didn't seem like your vehicle reacted to anything, it was just kind of there, static on the screen as it moved around the city, erratically dragged across the screen repeatedly by the incompetent driver. did they even have any locational damage? or damage at all?
After watching that video, I'm extremely glad I wasn't able to purchase this when I posted about the $29 deal.
You gotta admit though, the mechanics they came up with are pretty cool.
It plays like a GTA clone with gimmicks and without the charm or style, basically. The only thing that will make me want to play this is if the single-player story is awesome and the pacing is slow and deliberate, like the initial trailer of the game.
The sandbox aspect is cool and all, but I want to feel like I'm just rat trying to outsmart the powers that be lol I don't want to be the digital Batman who moves around at a clip and isn't really punished for not being tactful. I'm probably asking for too much, wanting some MGS-tier gameplay in an open world lol
