It will be 100% up to the retailer. On a sliding scale of evil -> fuck you, the 'evil' option is to force you to change the bundled game and the 'fuck you' option is to make you wait until next spring for your console.

Usually a sign of near-catastrophe. You normally go gold a month before ship date and use that month to crunch on the day-1 patch. Clearly they weighed a $600B loss on their books this fiscal year against what would happen if they shipped the game in its current state and took the 'better' option.

I had preordered the ps4 bundle from Amazon. I am hoping they will offer a switch over to another bundle or just the console only version.

I would expect Amazon to be one of the retailers that offers a substitute title for the launch bundles, but I wouldn't expect anybody to unbundle your bundled preorder. Realistically speaking your options will boil down to: cancel the preorder, accept a different title for your bundle, wait until next spring for your requested bundle.

I also did Amazon and am also assuming they'll just require me to change my preorder title...problem is this was the only launch title I had remotely close to any interest in. I don't really want to risk giving up the launch day console but I really don't want to pay for KZ4/BF4/Knack when I had no intention of buying them in the first place.

I'm guessing the whole up-scaling a game from old hardware wasn't working out for them. Too bad, maybe they'll re-reveal this shit into some Star Fox Adventures-type of awesome.

In a statement provided to VideoGamer.com in response to Watch Dogs' delay this evening, SCEE said:

"Obviously this is [a] very recent announcement, but we will be working very closely both with Ubisoft and with our partners at retail to manage this situation."

The platform holder did not say whether it would be working with Ubisoft to replace Watch Dogs with an alternate Ubisoft title or if it would be pulling the bundle SKU altogether.

The Watch Dogs PS4 bundle was announced alongside three other official bundles earlier this month, which bundled a copy of the game in with the console.

Niggas be scramblin' nobody saw this coming. One has to wonder if Europe is proper fucked here, as I see Sony maybe pulling unbundled SKUs out of smaller markets to make American fans happy.

Europe for sure had skus with the bundled titles all over the box. This late in the game there may just be a code for a coupon for one 'free' copy of Watch Dogs that expires next summer. lol

Yeah I figured at this point the main packaging is already printed and just waiting assembly/filling. If they ship the console on time with a code I may just sell my preorder to some desperate schmuck on ebay(friend just sold his for $800...) and wait until games I actually want to play come out.
