I have no idea what I would want for a Tier I prize, but in my heart, I keep hearing Nirvana.

Care to explain? I don't find any of the mythics an attractive option since pretty much the only good ones are for jobs I don't have/wouldn't level. I'd get an Ochain before I got a mythic, to be honest. Is it just because it's so much harder to get a 99 mythic over a 99 relic these days?

The effort to get a 75 Mythic is much, much, much, much greater than the effort to get a 90 Empyrean or a 95 Relic. It doesn't necessarily make a Mythic weapon better, just more difficult to obtain.

That's what I figured, but it sounds like a silly reason to get a mythic unless you really wanted one before winning the prize. It would be like winning the lottery and buying a 1931 Deusenberg that you'll never drive, just because it's more rare, rather than something that you will drive, enjoy and love. Actually, the Deusenberg makes more sense because you could resell it in the future... but let's assume you don't plan on putting your FFXI account on EGS.
