Maybe any of the keywords from the trailer point at something?

The Sacred City of Adoulin (Probably an obvious one)
    Arciela
    An Ancient King
    Twelve Great Houses
    Yggdrassil
    Seven Native Warlord
    ??azowa in the North
    ??ark Overlord (Dark Overlord?)
    Tarutarus (What?)

    It's Tartarus not Tarutarus.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tartarus

Only reference that comes to mind in FFXI is Gate of Tartarus WS on the best relic no one makes.
Also, Kayeel-Payeel, Campaign NPC who wields Claustrum uses a WS Tartarus Torpor, but yeah nothing much iirc

Whoops, yeah your right Tartarus. Selective reading and assumed

Well Tartarus is hell/prison, most notably to hold Cronus. Cronus castrating Uranus is supposed to have created Giants and Cyclops, guarded by a she-dragon (womans head) eg Tiamat. If it's not part of the actual storyline (or may be, like Limbus) it could be a new raid scenario.

the last 4 expansion (storywise) have all been heavy influenced by 1 or more big avatars.

Odin: expansion 1-4 (more in 3-4)
    Alexander: 3
    Atomos: 4
Phoenix + Diabolos: 2 (to a lesser extinct)
    Caitsith: 4
    Carbuncle + Fenrir: 1
    Bahamut: 2

whats the chance that a new big avatar makes an appearance in this new expansion (not as a pet). They tend not to reuse old avatars in storys that were present alot. Phoenix might be a possibility. Maybe a total new entity?

I'm surprised Yggdrassil is in the expansion (at least the name).
I always thought the Boyhoda(sp) Tree was supposed to be an allusion to it. Given how it's a really gigantic tree and Nidhogg lives down at its "roots"

It probably was, but the current writing staff might not know it.

Yggdrasill has been mentioned by name before in the Myriad Arms of Balrahn for Laevateinn.

This is either a new mob class, it looks like a Spriggan(half woman half plant) but it could also be a new Avatar -- Siren, from Final Fantasy VIII

Also, the new jobs will need ultimate weapons and since it's not likely that SE will give the new jobs mythics or relics, the new jobs will probably get their own things in addition to a new generation of ultimate weapon. We had relics, mythics, empyreans and now....you've read it here first folks, I'm dubbing them Fable Weapons.

    Examples of Fables:
    Lionheart(greatsword)
    Longinus(polearm)
    Solais(Sword)
    Sharur(club)
    Mutsunokami a.k.a Yoshiyuki(Great Katana)
    Artemis' Bow(Bow)
    Kagenui(Katana)
    Fomalhaut(Gun)
    Jarngreipr(h2h)
    Irminsul(Staff)
    Parashurama(Gaxe)
    Gajaba(Axe)
    Ouranos(Scythe)

It could be Siren yeah... when they showed that artwork during the English stream they were completely vague about that creature.. they were surely hiding something.

why would you think that about mythic weapons? DNC/SCH vigil weapons were added retroactively to nyzul isle, so its highly likely they'll do the same for GEO/RUN.
for that matter they're likely to throw in GEO/RUN relic AF into Dynamis, AF+1 into Limbus, and Empyrean AF into Abyssea.
Adding the new jobs into Relic and Empyrean is also not that unlikely, although we still don't know what kind of weapon classes they can use. If it fits in their style, its possible to be included.

That said, I think a 4th group of legendary weapons is also likely, towards the later part of the expansion at least..
tho i'd probably draw on name inspiration from other FFs, like Celestial Weapons from FFX.

also.. you're right it does look like siren

edit: yay lets make names up
    h2h - godhand
    dagger - zorlin shape
    swd - lionheart
    gswd - tournesol
    axe - ?
    gaxe - ?
    scythe - tezcatlipoca
    polearm - longinus
    katana - yagyu no shikkoku
    gktn - mutsunokami
    club - strange vision
    staff - whale whisker
    archery - artemis bow
    mksman - fomalhaut

lol. maybe throw in a legendary bell and animator while theyre at it

All these legendary weapons... the way it's going, each continent will have a set >.> Adoulin will see Ulbuka's legendary weapons, then we'll get Olzhirya's, and then Rhazowa's.... /sigh

For the record, I also strongly believe a 4th set at least is on the way, to accommodate GEO and RUN/RFN/RNF as well as DNC and SCH since they didn't get added to relics.

    thats the yeti.
it was posted in roadmap so i think it'll appear before SoA, probably in dungeon crawling..

that said, its possible the native warlords could be similar monster models.. or reskins.

i'm thinking the shark will look similar to Bismarck.. and the bird is gonna be a giant wild chocobo lol

Empyrean, maybe. Relic? No, jobs from AU on still aren't on them. IIRC they said they had no intentions to add them either.

I can see them introducing 2 new mythics, and maybe adding them to empys. I dont see them adding the new jobs to relics tough. SCH DNC COR BLU PUP were all left out of the relic field. Maybe the reasoen is that those jobs werent as popular during the crystal war and nativ in sandi/bastok/windurst, whereas aht urgan and whitegate has been a big popular city. Anyway, if they add them to relics, they might as well add SCH DNC COR BLU PUP to the relic field too.

I'd like them to draw on old FF weapon names too but they usually do 50/50.

Exalibur/Ragnarok/Gungnir/Mjollnir/Amanomarakumo(Heaven's Cloud)/Aegis/Yoichinoyumu(Yoichi's Bow) were all from previous FF games whereas Spharai/Claustrum/Annihilator/Apocalypse were not.

For mythic only the Gastrophetes, Death Penalty and Ryunohige(Dragon Whisker) were from previous FF games whereas the Vigil weapons were all mid-level weapons from previous FF games, mainly FF5/6.

Empyreans, only the Caldabolg/Masamune were from older FF games.

So when I made up the names for the "Fable" weapons, i tried to draw on Muslim/Japanese/Irish/Persian lore aka the sword of Muhammad, the sword of Solomon, the axe of Shiva, the gauntlets of thor, the sickle/scythe of Uranus(Kronos) etc..

you do know all of the weapon names are taken from mythological/religious lore, right?
