Man, Jin had a lot of moves taken away from him. Didn't see that with other characters.

My vote for most useless overdrive.Bang: Furinkazan
Tao's could be game breaking depending on the player, if the shit she could do in CSE during that are a sign of things. Unless they nerfed stuff like this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOQOY...ailpage#t=132s

stay classy hazama
Seems more they exchanged them for others. If I'm reading correctly, he lost his shoryus? His were gray, curious to see what they felt was an adequate replacement.
Looks like they're really going in on changes, Overdrive appears to be tamer than X-Factor, sort of a short-term Unlimited character, mostly special gauges refilling faster and such. Appears to have slight damage boost, but not any speed bonuses.
or if you prefer the moonspeak version
Spoiler: show
hrmm I think you actually only get one boost, and the timer was for Overdrive...so you have to choose between that or your one green burst.
Ragna is like...an entirely different character again. 6A is no longer jump-cancelable, 6C and 5D no longer dash-cancelable, and 6B doesn't gatling. His combo structure is going to be completely changed.
edit: also JP control scheme 1, you cray. D on thumb or bust.
People use their thumbs in four button games?
BCDX
AXXX
Index on A, BCD Middle through pinky is how I roll.
[EDIT] I will say though, I hope they fix the lobby ping check in this release. BBCT used to be fast at it. CS1 much less so, then slightly improved in CS2. CSE? Even worse, even though I have a better connection nowadays.
wow that's fucked up lol...I don't know anyone who doesn't use thumb for bottom left button, what you just described hurts my hands thinking of it.
I think years and years of Guitar Hero and Rock Band built up my pinky strength enough to make it comfortable.
[EDIT] Wait, that makes no sense, I used my right hand for fret strumming...., whatever, back to grinding the offline CSE trophies. Storm happenin around here'ish, is fucking with my ping consistency.
That's the beavers chewing in the wires.
No wires between my place and my ISP! Sucked at any rate, had a couple green matches before bad ping spikes kept occuring.
Got a good 80 some ranked matches to go for a stupid trophy.
That's probably why it's so bad lol
Not using your thumb makes about as much sense as sticking D in the bottom left.
In other news, this game will hopefully be out after the AC rerelease, so I won't bother wasting more money on this stupid series.
I skipped extend too, but this looks pretty interesting.
I really want to become a better player at games like this. The only person I could play "well" as was Jin (And who couldn't?), but I desperately wanted to learn how to play Hakumen.
Still, for games like this I've always just played with a controller. I guess I should invest in a fighting stick?
Stick won't make you inherently better, there's tons of great pad players. The main advantage of a stick is that if you also play at arcades it'll be familiar. Certain things are easier to me such as dashing, but other people say it's easier for them on a pad. Either way be prepared if you switch, it usually takes a month or two to be fully proficient on a stick after changing over.
Since switching to a stick, I've found that combos and just general movements are more accessible. Also, my fingers don't feel nearly as beat up after a session of game play.
omfg, guilty gear and this?!?! good fucking times, i'm glad i skipped CSE too, god dammit NOEL IS FUCKING SEXY!
yeah i found movement generally to be a lot more fluid once i transitioned to stick. my IAD's on pad always had a slight delay to them, could never get them to be 'instant' consistently. plus i found the more 'complex' motions like 632146's and the like much easier to do on stick. the biggest benefit for me though was longevity, if i played for more than an hour or two at a time on pad, my wrists/hands would start to hurt in a serious way. ergonomically, the difference between the two is huge, i never get any kind of discomfort on stick even during completely unreasonable marathon sessions.
also,
ABC
DXX
thumb on D, i just kinda assumed that's how everyone played.
