Also I don't know what the second part of your sentence means, even if moogle had more DPS. As far as I know, DPS sets the caps for both stats. If less STR is needed, then less INT is needed as well. You'd still benefit from capping STR first and then going for INT like Churchill said, no matter which weapons you're using.

I dont have ifrit weapon anymore so i might be wrong hence the iirc, but i think they are not far apart, around 39DPSish, the Bow is defintiely higher than ifrit's bow though

Anyway, sorry about the derail. Assuming the numbers you had at the bottom of your post were accurate: Swap the zircon+1 with rubellite+1 and you'll cap str (352) while having close to capped int (304ish). If you get an explorer's earring you can make up for the INT with a +30~ INT hat, and then cap STR with STR food.

Alright, sounds good. Which hat is best to meld int to for mnk?

I use felt cavalier's hat since it's what I had for BLM (also has like 3 base int). Best option is probably that 3STR 3INT tricorne tho.

Did you really think the difference between 39.7DPS and 39.68DPS is 16STR? And to that end, regardless, you have 12 more INT than you would need if you were using Ifrit's Claws which by your logic would be 28 over your imaginary cap for Moogle h2h.

    gtfo with that bullshit.

Monocle and Pot Helm are best for INT melds, one favoring MNK and the other BLM. Felt Cavalier's hat is sort of an in the middle piece that doesn't offer a significant benefit to either job aside from what you're melding onto it.

I have wanted an INT melded monocle my entire life, but everyone I know used Cavalier's Hat so I didn't want to be ridiculed and thought I was missing something.

The above post made me the happiest girl at prom.

You have watched me from the shadows for too long frend. Monocle is also pretty easy to get HQ stuff together for, I have HQ mats for 10 on my retainers and it cost ~400k to buy the cheaper stuff and the rest is easily mined. (Did I mention you need mining? lol)

I like Pot Helm, Flava Flaaaaav Monk son

I've been fighting of myself on making this post mostly out of fear of being ridiculed. I see warriors with all kinds of gear and feel like I'm missing something about caps or materia slotting. I'm having a hard time finding a post or some table out there for a cap or a point of diminishing returns on stats.

    Current
Weapon: Demilune Bhuj with STR+ Materia Meld
    Head: Warrior AF
Body: Cobalt Cuirass with VIT+ Materia Meld
    Hands:Warrior AF
    Legs: Warrior AF
    Feet: Warrior AF
Waist: Cobalt Plate Belt with Enmity+ Meld
    Earring: Explorer's Earring
    Neck: Electrum Gorget
    Wrist: Rubellite Bracelets
Rings: Rubellite Rings (I swap an ACC ring in if I'm soloing just for a small boost.)

Now what I'm working towards at the moment is Sentinel's Sabatons with HP+ Meld.
I'm struggling with the other slots that have AF at the moment. I'm trying to get by on single melds first and then work towards the risk/reward of the doubles. I've been hesitant at making a weapon choice until I get proper advice.

I'm also fine with simply being redirected to a page that explains what I'm looking for. I could just be a failure at searching and googling.
Feel free to pick apart any slot I have. Love and respect everyone's opinions here.

Edit: Weapon choice can simply mean doing the events required for it although I will have to rely on pick-up groups. I do have a level 50 bard so I don't embarass my warrior's gear out there. Although I typically go in pick-ups with people who lack a single meld so... ;-; I've seen 3 PLD with Flametongue @ lvl50... Am I missing something!?

I have a Giantsgall War Axe melded with ACC+15 and Enmity+20. Would this still have use if I had Garuda's (bosses in particular is what I was thinking for the enmity bump) or should it just be sold if I can acquire Garuda's? Stats below for comparisons sake if no one knows them offhand.

    Spoiler: show
    Code:
    Giantsgall War Axe
    Damage: 169
    Delay: 4.3
    DPS: 39.3
    Vit: +5, Accuracy: +25, Magic Evasion: +10, Enmity: +20

    Garuda's Scream
    Damage: 159
    Delay: 3.9
    DPS: 40.77
Accuracy: +25, Crit Attack Power: +40, Wind Resistance: +15, Adds Wind Damage

Is Acc and Enmity+ what all the cool kids are doing with their melds on weapons?! Shoot! I was completely on the wrong track.

Couldn't say if it's the best choice, but I took ACC to get as close to Mog (since I'm 0/god knows how many on that stupid thing) and the Enmity for obvious reasons.

I'm alright with just getting any advice. Even an open debate over both sides or a 'Ehhh... about the same' would work. Currently the responses I get to 'Which is better? This or this?' I get 'Neither. Darklight's better.'

It's true but... I wouldn't do a pug for that.

I want to be as well equipped as I can and a little more experienced before I start hunting for a shell.

    @Mina: No

I don't know which of those two is going to perform better, but talking basically 1.5DPS for 20Enmity on all actions. I'd feel more comfortable using a double than I would a mix though (~35+enmity).

@Mina: I wouldn't work on HP gear first, it's not really necessary for WAR. I get the point of Sentinel's Sabatons, but that's an expensive route to go for 9enmity and some HP. Cobalt Sabatons are 3str/3acc and double hp's on those are easy to come by and cheap. Felt Bracers and Felt Trousers are your route for melds, and I would recommend farming mats for HQ's because they should both be triple'd (Would do gloves first, cheaper, biggest improvement). If you're never going to level anything else ever ever forever never then you can do Cobalt Gaunlets or something else, but Felt Bracers offers the most jobs getting some use out of them. You're aiming for >+45STR on Bracers, and >+22 on pants.

Start doing some Moogle, that axe is going to be your best bet more often than not in any situation you're tanking. You will realize very quickly that Skull Sunder is a bitch ass trick and missing it destroys keyboards.

Sounds good. I'm going to browse the wards after work then!

It's not so much leveling them (since I will cause I'm an achievement whore) as to "equipping them well".
I like investing all my time/money towards one job and then moving onto the next. Well as long as no one laughs at my WAR for having felt bracers with those melds, that seems like the more likely outcome.

Moogle it is then! Any advice on what to do before I get that moogle weapon? Should I follow Tacotaru's path?

No, his double meld is about 4.5m and that's assuming he went 1/1. Moogle is nice to bards, that's how I started out myself.

Those Felt Trousers and Felt Bracers will basically put your Monk and Dragoon at Pimp status before you even play them. The rest of their gear is slight changes/darklight. Between gloves/pants you're adding 67STR (minimum) to any job before any other gear is factored in, to put that in perspective, most jobs start around the 270 area, so 67STR puts you at 337 or 13 away from the lowest caps for Primal weapons.

    You're the best Churchill!
Why aren't there more people like you around to set the masses straight?

Now to find me a solid group to do Moogle.

Church is right about my axe, I went 1/1 and I wouldn't have tried it more than a couple of times before giving up and waiting for Moogle. If I would have bought everything outright the day I tried it it would have cost me 1.3m (I had the axe so it only cost me 300k), then it would have jumped to around 2m, then much larger from there on because I was using capped IIIs which are expensive and the Axe itself which was running 1~2mil.

Moogle is a very easy fight and the Axe is very good. Mog is basically a lateral move from my axe (imo) since I give up crit rate for Enmity.

I've read many of those pages and still sat and wondered what would be the "best" option. Also I fret over patch changes that I miss and things becoming irrelevant.

I couldn't follow what the guy was saying about ifrit/moogle h2h since I've studied those weapons for my husband's choice as well. I'm thinking about forcing him to do moogle with me

Please forgive my extreme ignorance here but do you mean sell the HQ mats or use them to HQ the gear itself? I was assuming selling the HQ mats but now I'm wondering if maybe I'm reading it wrong.

I agree on doing the gloves first. I think I'll make doubles of both and then start putting away towards getting those triples on the hands.
