Any reason to aim for higher STR than INT? I'm rather clueless, but I thought you wanted both stats around 330ish for the primal weapons.

On a note:

I have been rolling with my Serpent officer's bow, (25k seals gridania) (77/3.3/40.30) and my buddy has been rolling with his Limsa 25k Seal bow (97/3.8/40.26) we've been farming the shit out of garuda this week and he purchased the Garuda bow.

Now up until this point, our damage has been lopsided as shit, with him in the lead. My gear is a bit better, but not by much tbh, maybe 30 attack and 10 ish dex/pie , but anyway.

he's a better bard than me, I admit, i focused on the other 6 jobs and he pretty much just fought garuda probably 300+ times before we started clearing her last thursday.
But the strange thing:
His limsa bow, out DPS's the fucking shit out of mine and out of Garuda's. It takes him 3 shots to get 1000tp and takes me 4. It's really crazy how much more damage he does. Now we both concede that for the garuda fight, garuda's bow is crappier, but for skirmish, speed runs, etc. garuda destroy's.
Just thought it was interesting... i'll try and get you some more numbers.

Doesnt necessary means it's the weapon issue, maybe he just have better skill rotation and slip out light shots inbetween WSs, those makes huge differences.

For every fight on BRD really, there is a different way to use your skills. The better you can manage those, the higher you will DPS.

Barrage management, for example, is a big factor for Garuda. If you have any parses and can show #shots, light shot average, WS average, etc., that might show something more.

He is getting 3000TP 2 shots faster than you, though to be honest, this shouldn't be a relevant or deciding factor. There is more than enough time to throw rocks and build TP with how that fight is paced on BRD; I've had more than one BRD using Garuda's post 25k+ depending on how the fight goes.

Natural skills and proper rotation plays a big part in overall dps in non zerg fights. You can compare averages in LightShot and WS dmg to see who edges out more dmg per action, but he might be getting off more actions adding more to total dmg.

Also, due to the manual nature of Light Shot, your damage can also be affected by how much input lag you have. I imagine European ARC/BRD would do less damage than a JP ARC/BRD even if they just sat there and did nothing but spam light shot.

So now that we have a near limitless supply of seals and I'm already at cap, is there any Flames GC gear I should pick up for WHM? Wasn't planning to gear it up but I might as well grab some stuff now.

Most GC gear (especially the set bonuses) are geared toward melee than mages, between WHM AF being as good as it is and the few other alternatives being melds and Imperial Op hat I'm not sure it's worth the trouble.

Wand/Earring/Mitts/Targe is a nice combo with some decent bonuses tho.

Decent mix of enhancing/VIT, healing/MND, and HP. I'd say not worth the points normally but they're gonna be rolling in if you put some effort into it with the events going on atm.

Feet, pants, earring, 25k h2h weapon, FUCKING BODY!!!??? There's your set bonus, retard a mounts of int. only double melds monk needs (for any GC really) is gloves and head. I have garudas claws, but even before I usually sat at 377str, 304 int. I had so much play though, I could get to 350/320 fairly easily. Adders nest is arguably BEST for monk lol
