The attempt to say "no I meant forcible rape, not legitimate" has got to have Paul Ryan slamming his head on his desk screaming "DROP THE FUCK OUT NOW I'M IN THE CROSSHAIRS YOU STUPID FUCK!"

Well, a woman that pretends having been raped so she can have an abortion.
How else can you interpret "legitimate rape"? I never seriously entertained the thought he meant "legitimately-sanctioned rape", didn't think anyone did.
So his explanation is probably true (and shouldn't have been necessary), but no less stupid and assholish. Srsly, what kind of an asshole tells a rape victim "you're just faking it to have an abortion"?
I wonder how much the democrats paid this guy off.
This is the only thing news channels are talking about..
I want to quote the original OP:
It scares me that this was actually in a bill before congress. How is rape not forcible?! It disgusts me that these guys get re-elected over and over.. and over again. His claim about “legitimate” types of rape is not completely foreign to the current Republican Congress, however. In 2011, the House GOP was forced to drop language from a bill that would have limited federal help to pay for an abortion to only victims of “forcible rape.” Akin was a co-sponsor on the bill.

Double post sorry >< Did that too me earlier. Forums are being weird today.
am I the only one slightly disturbed by how much some people (particularly msnbc and especially maddow) are throwing around the phrase "rape baby"?
By disturbed do you mean aroused?
why is "rape baby" disturbing? A child of rape is a "rape baby."
do you just dislike the term because "rape" is negative and "baby" is positive?
Wellllllll, i get how it might be insensitive to say that when there are actually people who exist who are a product of rape.
Double posting for everyone today it seems.
DOUBLE COMBO~!!
also something I find really disturbing is the way he said "let's say that didn't work or something..."
it's one thing to imply that women are faking rape to get abortions...
he could almost kind of make some kind of point about a woman's body not cooperating real well if it's like... a violent, forceful rape
but it's insanely scary to me that while the "fake rape" thing is so obviously offensive, there's not enough being said, imo, to the implication that "non-violent" rape is somehow not really rape and should be treated differently
like, he's "backpedaling" by trying to revert to the "forcible" terminology which is exactly that
Maybe I missed it, but with all the corrections he's making about forcible/legitimate/fake rape, has he once admitted that he's a fucking idiot in the regards of his retarded claim about woman shutting down the pregnancy?
