Aight in and fine, see it was only a small issue. OMFG GAME IS DIEING IT WILL NEVER BE FIXED"!!!!!
Pretty surprised the servers filled up quickly.
Query: can you transfer items from one character to another? I found a sweet bow on my engineer that I want to give to my Ranger.
Use your Bank to transfer to your other characters.
Yeah, and the crafting materials put into collection too, awesome stuff.
Need to figure out how to get some logs.
Like tree logs? Some of the basic merchants sell you mining, logging, and harvesting tools, ala FFXI, but a lot higher stack count. You can also use a Salvage kit and break apart woodworking weapons like axes, bows, and spears. There are various qualities, to the tools, so that the first tier only lets you mine copper but the next tier lets you mine copper and silver (or whatever the next tier of ore is).
Other then whatever happened earlier with the login server and some lag a little bit afterwards everything has been great.
Really loving the game
Hope they get the Black Trade Market working; need me some gems to make Jewelry Accessories.
Don't act like a douchebag in game, regardless of whether you are one in real life or in BG.

Seems someone already got temp banned for saying silly things. Don't say silly things!
In other news I love how the costumes are bound account-wide rather than per character. ArenaNet being awesome could of done the transaction per character but instead did it per account. So you can buy the costume once and share it among all of your characters. You just have to place it in the bank so your other characters have access to it. Unlike TERA which is one item slot per character.

Just trying to get the hang of crafting.
Try http://wiki.guildwars2.com or http://www.gw2db.com The thing to remember is that to craft something you need to throw the parts into the first option on the crafting menu (Discover? I'm not in game atm.) Once you make something there, it becomes a recipe, so a good practice is to only make stuff you might want or know will sell so you don't waste rare resources.
Is gear meaningful at all in PvP/WvW, or does it scale everything down to equal stats so it's based entirely on weapon and build choice? Been reading up about the crafting system and it seems like it'd be a nice pipe dream to aim for Legendary Weapons in the future, but are they basically only for PvE or will they give you some benefit in PvP too, if only a very minor one?
gear is meaningful for WvW, you use your PvE skills and equipment for that but still get bumped up to level 80.
Structured PvP (battlegrounds) you get leveled off and only have worry about class, skills and traits, pvp relic, and runes and sigils (slotted stuff that goes in your armor). There are vendors in the heart of the mists that provide all of that free of charge. PvP rewards then just give better looking armor as you rank up instead of generic garb that you start off with.
