And still, I think calling it XIII-3 would have been better, for the simple fact that it wraps up the story of the previous 2 games. They could go FPS in the thrid game for all I care, I will still call it XIII-3.According to a translation by Final Fantasy Network, the team believes the entry is unique enough to warrant a different name, “as calling it XIII-3 might give the impression that it would be a direct evolution of Final Fantasy XIII-2.” Kitase referred to the game as “a new experience.”
Hmm FFX-2 didn't force you to skip anything at all.
To get 100% all you have to do is check every single area before the Hotspot marked ones, visit every single zone in Chapter 3 so you can watch all the spheres in the following one and join the Youth League instead of New Yevon.
X-2 even has more than 100% completion technically so the random events aren't even that important and can be missed easily. The only annoying part are the interviews.
Either way LR doesn't sound that bad honestly. You can actually increase the time left by doing special things and if you lose time it's pretty much your fault for screwing up and getting killed or using Lightning's special powers too much.
FFX-2 100% was a pain in the ass. The interviews were long and boring, and what screwed me over on my play-through is that I forgot to sleep in the airship Cabin at least once every chapter. I think it counted for something like .3 of a percent, but fuck I was annoyed when I found out (I was around 96% done at this point).
Besides the annoying tediousness of getting 100% and the crappy storyline though, the game was actually pretty fun to play.
X-2 is my favororite FF to play for gameplay alone followed by FF12 but that's because I gave myself full control of one character unlike most other people apparently.
I'm pretty sure I would only set a Self > Libra and Enemy: Nearest > Attack for my lead character. Either way, any FFXII fight of notable difficulty was spent half in the menu just to figure out "WAT DO" after 4 characters are dead, one is petrified, and the last one is disabled (assuming you played like a normal person and not maxing shit out via guides).
I'm really curious about this game's battle system though I am sad that it's not going to be FFXII/FFX-2/FFXIII-2 style. It sounds like it might be a lot like Type-0 and Versus' systems... which would be appropriate.
What is the Type-O battle system like? Of it's anything like the KH system (later iterations, like BBS I mean), then I'm all for it
December 22nd first trailer
Sephiroth vibe. Lap it up FF fanboys. Lap it up.
Other than the black color what part of it looks like Sephiroth's armor?
Overall it's decent but her original FFXIII is still the best.
Maybe not so much the armor, but the stance/pose she's in matches the original FF7 one more or less:

Still, I accept.
another version
Geez that breast-plate.
I'll lap that up, haha, however, I don't like how her boobs are now sticking out (just noticed, despite it being the same version as the first post up there) -- I mean, the former 2 games never emphasised her boobs. And now suddenly they're huge? That's just wrong.
Not a fan tbh, XIII-2's was ridiculous enough given the transition from XIII, not sure why they felt the need to make it even more crazy and add even more segmented flowy bits. Not overly bothered though, I know you can change sword/shield and possibly the costume too?
oh wait, I do know why, japan
Reminds me of this:Spoiler: show
