Fox has locked in “Independence Day Resurgence” as the title for Roland Emmerich’s sequel to the 1996 blockbuster.

Fox has also released the first photos from the set — one of the Moon Tug spacecraft and another of director Emmerich posing with it.

The story revolves around the nations of Earth having collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet — which comes under attack by the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force.

Wonder if it's the same race or a new one. Yeah, that looked pretty cool. Could have been decent look even without the ID title. Would kinda suck to take their tech the already be outdone as soon as the new guys show up lol.
