Pretty sure Alistair is canonically the King of Ferelden according to the novels. Though I suppose he could technically still be a Grey Warden captain. Wonder how they will handle Leliana if you killed her in Origins. For that matter, how was she handled in DA2 if she died in Origins? I don't think I ever offed her in my playthroughs.
Unless I missed it somewhere Leliana never appears in DA2 or is even mentioned.
Uh...she is pretty damn prominent in one of the story missions (I think with the archer prince dude), and also appears in the ending with Cassandra discussing the disappearance of both Hawke and "The Warden".
I'll just assume I blocked it out of my memory like most of that game then.
already want a mod to replace generic-bald-elf-mage-guy #37 w/ merrill
Seeing as it's next gen now and the saves won't carry directly over the Alistair and Leliana decisions might be something they just take out of the equation and go with their own canon created by the books so far with Alistair the king, and Leliana serving the Chantry Divine in Orleais.
I think it's highly likely that they will give us a prompt that lets you choose between a few limited cannon choices like they did with mass effect 2 on ps3. So you'll get your general world from when you played, but not so much that they have to waste all their time fitting in all the differences.
dragon age 1 > dragon age 2 importing was barely anything, even if a character had died in the first game they were still alive in the second. it mostly just checked who the king was and what race/class your champion was in the first game for when people referenced it in game.
I'm so hyped but I don't want my heart to break
This isn't Blight related either, right? There's still two Old Ones remaining, but it hasn't been all that long since the blight in DA:O
From what I remember from the brief synopsis I read, it's not supposed to be a Blight or Darkspawn threat. There are rips in the Fade appearing all over Thedas and nasty shit is pouring out. Plus the Mages and Templars are fighting each other in an all out war now. And I think Orlais was undergoing some internal strife...civil war maybe?
Yeah it involves the Fade spilling into the real world and the main character is tasked with closing them up.
Yeah civil war in Orleais is also happening but the main threat seems to be the split in the Fade. Some of the concept art they posted in the past does seem to hint towards potential blights rising though as well.
this headline sure kills hype "Dragon Age: Inquisition Influenced by Mass Effect 3"
luckily the actual article makes it sound not nearly as bad as the headline suggests
According to a report from Gaming Bolt on April 23, Cameron Lee revealed that the war table element for Dragon Age: Inquisition was influenced by the Spectre activities of Mass Effect 3.
Lee explained in an interview with CVG that while the Spectre activities wasn’t completely fleshed out its feedback was used to rebuild a new system that would better fit the world of Dragon Age:
We wanted a system that was far more fleshed out, far more part of the world and part of the story around you, and that reacts and changes. But we also recognized that you don’t want to make a decision and then, five hours later, a random little thing happens that you may or may not even notice. We’ve been guilty of this in the past, where there are so many decision points and so many actions you can take in a game, and so many of them have a consequence whether it be major or minor. But you very rarely notice unless you’re really paying attention.
The function of the war table is to have players send out followers to select areas on the map in order to complete missions and the consequences of these missions will affect the endings of the game.
Don't want to derail and rehash the two year old argument but ME3 was fucking fantastic until the ending screwed the pooch so badly. As long as the ending isn't the part being influenced I am A-OK with that.
