    [dev1295] Job Adjustments

    The following jobs will undergo adjustments.

    Beastmaster
    When using a pet command, the target will be the pet rather than the player.

    Puppetmaster
    The effects of certain attachments will be adjusted.

    The maximum number of merit points will be increased.
    The maximum number of merit points that can be placed into the following categories will be increased as follows.
    HP: from 45 to 75.
    * The maximum number of merit points will be increased from 15 to 45.
    Attributes: from 60 to 105.
    Combat skills: from 112 to 151.
    Magic skills: from 80 to 112.

    The maximum number of job points able to be stored at once will be increased from 350 to 500.

    The maximum number of job points that may be spent per category will be increased from 15 to 20.

    New gifts will be added.
    One of these gifts for each job will be a job master title, obtainable at the maximum value of 2100.

    King of Hearts (10/27)

    He kept refreshing me while I was on SAM/WAR. Is this a glitch?
    This is working as intended, actually. The King of Hearts was designed with the fact that it believes its master is its creator, Karababa. Part of this logic is that he will also cast Haste on backline jobs because they will also occasionally need it.

    Players may find this behavior odd, but please think of it as part of the personality for this particular Trust.

    A new class of armaments, aeonic weapons, will be added via a new quest.

    Aeonic weapons are of the same caliber as relic, mythic, and empyrean weapons, and possess an aftermath effect that enables the

    Aldo Trust (10/29)

    Is the Unity leader version of him any different than the normal one?
    Hello. The Trust “Aldo (UC)” has higher accuracy and has 5 levels invested into the Triple Attack Rate merit. Furthermore, the two Trusts have some differences in how they time their weapon skills. The Trust “Aldo” will pay attention to party members and aim for creating skillchains, and if this is not possible by the time he is at 2000 TP, he will combine a weapon skill with the ability Assassin’s Charge. The Trust “Aldo (UC)”, on the other hand, will use weapon skills when party members have more than 1000 TP, otherwise he will use them when he has 3000 TP.

    We think they each have their own uses, so we hope players can consider of how they can be applied.

    Hello. In regards to the above weapons, plus Ergon Weapons, making a total of four types of weapons, we do have something planned at the same time as we add in Aeonic Weapons.     Job Master (10/30)

    Is the Job Master status going to be apparent just by looking at a player?
    Upon achieving the gift at 2100 JP, it’ll be immediately apparent just by looking at a player that they have achieved the Job Master title. Naturally, we have also added the option for players to switch this display off, so players may toggle it as they wish.

    Incursion Solo (10/30)

    Can you let us enter it solo now?
    We may have some trouble responding to this request. Because of the length of Incursion, an increase in activity from solo players may cause problems in other instanced content.

    We’re not completely discounting the possibility, so we’ll report back to you if there is any change in the situation.

    Celebrating the Final Chapter of Rhapsodies of Vana'diel - Campaign Details! (11/02/2015)

    The following campaigns will kick off on Monday, November 9 at 11:00 p.m. (PST).

    From Friday, November 9 at 11:00 p.m. (PST) to Monday, November 20 at 6:59 a.m. (PST).

    Chain Experience Bonus Campaign - PLUS!
    Earn from double to three times the normal amount of experience from experience chains. Not only that, but the maximum benefit of Dedication from items will be doubled during the campaign!

    Chain Capacity Point Bonus Campaign - PLUS!
    Earn from double to three times the normal amount of capacity points from experience chains. Not only that, but the maximum benefit of Commitment from items will be doubled during the campaign!

    Chain Monstrosity Bonus Campaign - PLUS!
    Earn from double to three times the normal amount of experience from experience chains. Not only that, but the maximum benefit of Dedication will be doubled during the campaign!

    Double Simulacra Segment Drop Rate Campaign
    The rate at which Skirmish simulacra segments drop from colonization and lair reives will be doubled and their quality improved! Not only that, but whenever a visage is dropped in an area, it will correspond to the area in which it was obtained.

    Abyssea Campaign
    During the campaign, the default light values of pearlescent, azure," golden, and silver auras will be drastically increased.
    In addition, a blue treasure chest has been placed near Horst in Port Jeuno (H-8). Opening the chest will enable you to claim one of the following prizes:
    - Eleven varieties of Atma
    - One Lunar Abyssite key item
    - 100,000 cruor

    Mog Garden Campaign
    Mog Gardens will undergo the following adjustments.

    - Double the normal amount of shining stars will be earned.
    - Different flotsam will wash up upon the shores.
    - Reared creatures will provide items twice daily.
    - Moogles in the Mog Gardens will sell the following items.
       Golden seed pouch / Chestnut tree sap / Monarch beetle saliva / Bronze Bed /

    Wildskeeper Reive Campaign
    During this campaign, wildskeeper reives will undergo the following changes to make them more accessible.

    Further, the chance of receiving equipment from the SP dial will be increased.

    * The Adoulin dial is completely free to use.
    * At least forty-five days must have passed since character creation to be eligible to use the Goblin Mystery Box.

    Voidwatch Campaign
    All lights start at their maximum alignment values during the campaign.

    Geas Fete Campaign - PLUS!
    Receive double the usual amount of escha silt from defeating monsters in escha areas during the campaign. Additionally, personal rewards from Geas Fete are increased by two items, and players will receive either an eschalixir, eschalixir +1, or eschalixir +2.
    * In Reisenjima, players will receive either pellucid stones, fern stones, or taupe stones.

    Unity Wanted Campaign
    During the campaign, completing Wanted I and Wanted II Records of Eminence objectives will yield 2 treasure chests of each type.

    Domain Invasion Campaign
    The respawn time of notorious monsters will be halved during the campaign.

    Welcome Back Records of Eminence Objectives (11/02/2015)

    As part of the November Version Update, it will be possible to obtain the following alter egos through Records of Eminence objectives.
    Achieving these objectives will allow you to obtain the following tank, healer, melee fighter, caster, and support alter egos.

    - Valaineral R Davilles, master of the Uriel Blade!
    - The Springserpent General herself, Mihli Aliapoh!
    - From the Far East, the enigmatic Tenzen!
    - Adelheid Sturm, explosives expert
    - Coming to you straight from Abyssea, Joachim!

    Achieving the Objectives
    Speak to one of the following NPCs and complete the "First Step Forward" Records of Eminence objective under "Tutorial". Once completed, a new objective called "Call Forth an Alter Ego" will appear in the objectives list. After completing any of the "Trust: " quests, you will be rewarded with a cipher for calling forth an alter ego.

    - Rolandienne in Southern San d'Oria (G-10)
    - Isakoth in Bastok Markets (E-11)
    - Fhelm Jobeizat in Windurst Woods (J-10)
    - Eternal Flame in Western Adoulin (H-11)

    Learning Trust Magic
    After reaching Level 5, speak to one of the following NPCs to complete the tutorial Trust quest and learn how to call forth alter egos from each nation.

    Puppetmaster (11/2)

    A minor change I’d like done is to make the regen from Repair undispelable.
    Thanks for your feedback, we’ll consider making this change. We’re not sure when we would implement such a change however, so we’ll get back to you when we know.

    Threnody on NMs (11/5)

    Does Threnody get its effect halved on NMs?
    The Bard song “Threnody” has the same effect on notorious monsters as on normal monsters. We hope players find it useful in fights where magic is a key element.

    Trust (11/2, 11/4, 11/5)

    Could you add in a mode where Trusts only use Abilities and Magic? Sometimes they get in the way of a skillchain.
    One of the basic design philosophies behind Trusts is for them to use weapon skills, magic, and abilities often. Currently, we have no plans on changing this idea.

    I was fighting Vidala but I found that Apururu would not cast Stona on me. Is this intentional?
    We checked the behavior for the Trust “Apururu (UC)” and found that she is healing status ailments as normal. It is possible that the situation you are describing arose from the fact that Apururu (UC) prioritizes recovering HP. Her logic goes in the order of HP Recovery > Status Ailments which Inhibit Actions > Other Status Ailments. If you were continuously taking damage, then you would not receive any status healing from her.

    Can you make Trusts do more damage?
    The main purpose behind trusts is to support solo players or small groups in the game. We wish to make them inadequate for high level play to avoid the situation where players only use Trusts. For this reason, we have no plans to directly adjust their attack power. However, we are considering adjusting some of the skills they use, but it is currently still in the discussion stage.

    Effect Filter (11/6)

    Can you explain what this filter is going to be?
    It’s a filter for Summons as well as a portion of Trusts which display an aura effect. We hope to decrease the load for some players with this setting.

    Unity Trusts (11/6)

    It may be too late for the November update, but I guess I’ll bring it up. Currently, the Apururu Unity has an overwhelming number of players. This was probably inevitable considering how useful her Trust is, not only gaining TP without feeding any to the enemy but also able to restore her MP using that TP.

    Perhaps it would solve the problem if you would allow alternate ways to summon the Trusts of the leaders or by increasing the value of any non-WHM, non-GEO Trusts.

    First, we’d like to mention that it is true that we attempted to make the Unity leader Trusts more useful than the typical Trust, with higher stats and appropriate weapon skills. However, we designed them with the same basic premise as all Trusts, that we wanted them to support solo players and small groups.

    We want Trusts to have some use up to around Content Level 119, but for them to fall off significantly after that. We wish to avoid situations where players will opt to simply use damage-dealing Trusts over damage-dealing players.

    It’s possible the perceived gap between the front line and back line type Trusts is simply due to the fact that back line classes are generally more flexible to a wider range of scenarios to begin with. If we were really going to solve this problem, we would instead simply nerf healing and support type Trusts, but we don’t think players would really like that, so for the moment we’d like to instead leave it as-is.

    In regards to the concern about the imbalance in Unity populations, we are planning on adding a bonus system to Capacity Points based on Unity ranking in the November 10th update, with the lower ranking Unities gaining a greater bonus. By implementing this, we hope we will bring an incentive to being in a lower-ranking Unity, and we will continue monitoring the situation.

    Threnody (11/9)

    Can you raise the accuracy?
    We have no plans for it at this time. We have the set the potency of Threnodies to be quite high, so we believe the settings for the spell are appropriate.

    Sending Alluvion Items (11/11)

    Can you let us remove augments somehow so we can send these items to our mules?
    Currently, it would be difficult to implement removing the augments from these items, whether through Synergy or any other means. It would be quite a large workload, so this should be kept in mind when further discussing this topic.

    Finishing Moves Display (11/18)

    Please give us some kind of display for when we have over 5 Finishing Moves. Can you also remove the penalty for steps when you are at maximum daze?
    We should be able to implement a text command to display this information, but we can’t give a time for when it will happen.

    The request for penalty on finishing moves gained when the target is at the maximum daze level would be difficult to implement, and thus we cannot address it at this time.

    Merlinic Gear (11/19)

    Merlinic gear was created purely for back line jobs. There are no plans to adjust this gear and allow other jobs access, including blue mage.

    Deliverable Items (11/19)

    We're currently planning to make it possible to deliver Relic, Mythic, Empyrean and Ergon weapon upgrade materials. When this becomes possible, we're also planning to allow these items to be listed on the auction house.

    Escha Beads (11/19)

    It is possible to add Escha Beads as an item that can be obtained with Copper Vouchers; however, if we were to do this the exchange rate will be lower than other points.

    Beastmaster (11/19)

    As we’ve mentioned before, the development team has no plans to change the range at which beastmasters can use commands. As Matsui previously stated, we want beastmasters to be close range battle jobs and bear the risk of taking damage in the front line. This change was made, because players were using beastmaster to attack from the back line, and this was against what the development team had intended for beastmaster.

    Job Master (11/19)

    I hope I’m not the only one that thinks the Job Master trait is rather underwhelming.
    Thank you for your feedback. We had designed Gifts so that 1200 points would be a peak of sorts. The reason for this is that we thought putting 2100 as the finish line would have been too excessive, and people would start asking for only Job Masters in their party. We thought something like an appearance bonus given by Job Master would have been appropriate in this case. We hope players can understand this decision.

    Geas Feat (11/19)

    In the December update, we are planning on reducing the combat zone of Geas Fete. It will be affecting both Escha areas and Reisenjima, so the problem area at Eschan Portal #9 players have mentioned should also be resolved.

    Geas Fete (11/20)

    Reducing the area in which we can fight can affect the strategies used. Right now some people using kiting and ping pong type strategies, and reducing the battle area would make these less effective. Furthermore, weakened party members will have smaller safe areas. Thus, I personally am against this change.

    Of course, I don’t know if the way we were using the larger combat areas was something not intended by the dev team. I won’t write specifics, but I can think of at least one strategy that’s kinda sketchy. (I will say that it has nothing to do with using terrain to restrict movement)

    I think the important question is, what is the intent behind this adjustment to begin with? If the only problem area is the Reisenjima #9 area, then why adjust all areas?
    We thank you for your feedback. We have discussed this with the development team, and we have come up with the following 3 solutions.

    1. Only adjust the “Eschan Portal #9” in the Reisenjima area
    2. Reduce the areas of all battlefields
    3. Leave all areas as they are

    We think there are ups and downs to all choices, so we want to gather feedback from players until Tuesday, 11/24 11:00 JST. We hope players can give us their feedback.

    Can you do something about all the normal enemies that pop near the NM locations?
    We’ll be adjusting the monster groups in the December update. We particularly want to adjust the enemies that spawn near the Geas Fete ???s, and we hope players can have an easier time playing the content than they currently do.

    Geas Fete (11/24)

    We thank the players for their feedback.

    1. Reduce the size of Reisenjima’s “Eschan Portal #9” battlefield only
    2. Reduce the size of all battlefields
    3. Leave the battlefields as are

    Of the choices above, we’d like to detail the change. Currently, the radius of the battlefield is 50 yalms. We wish to reduce this to 35 yalms. The range of spells is 20 yalms, so we don’t feel this would negatively impact the combat balance of these fights. However, we feel that if players cannot experience it for themselves it would be difficult to choose, so we wish to change the game to option 2 temporarily in the next update.

    You might ask why we need to adjust all areas at once for this, and this is mainly because we wish to avoid any critical bugs occurring from such a hasty adjustment. Of course, we’re not guaranteeing no bugs at all, but we think it’s important players experience what such a change would be like themselves before making their decision.

    We hope the players can bear with any inconvenience this may cause them.

    Mog Wardrobe (11/24)

    There’s a lot of new augmented equipment. Can we please get a Mog Wardrobe 2?

    Also, is it possible to upgrade inventory max to 99?
    We get many requests for this, and we are currently discussing it with the development team. We will get back to you soon with the viability as well as potential timing on such an addition.

    Dashing Subligar (11/26)

    The development team is planning to make the following adjustments to the item "Dashing Subligar" in the December version update.

    •Remove the Rare and EX tags.
    •Add the ability to trade and place this item in bazaars.
    •Restrict the ability to list this item on the auction house.

    Originally this item was supposed to be a Superior item, but we will not be adding this property to this item after the fact since this would create a situation where some players who could previously equip the subligar would no longer be able to.

    Sublime Sushi (11/27)

    Can you make Bibiki Urchin and Gugru Tuna stackable?

    Also this is a minor point, but why do these sushi not require vinegar?
    We will be making Bibiki Urchin stackable in the December update. Gugru Tuna, however, is a large-size fish so unfortunately we cannot make that item stackable. We will also be adding Rice Vinegar onto the list of ingredients for Sublime Sushi.

    Beastmaster (11/30)

    1. Can you explain why Leaf Dagger from SharpwitHermes is so inaccurate? Is it based off ranged accuracy? If so, are the settings for it adjusted properly?

    2. BrainyWalius’s breath attacks are not worth using since they cost 3 charges, they are resisted very often, which is a shame because the status ailments would be useful otherwise.

    As mentioned, the Leaf Dagger ability does indeed check for ranged accuracy. We do have settings for a pet’s ranged accuracy so it won’t be minimized or anything, but it will be lower than melee attacks.

    Breath damage is proportional to the amount of HP the user has left, so it would be difficult to make adjustments to increase the damage on them.

    Relic/Mythic/Empyrean (11/30)

    Will there be a difference between the upgrading requirement like there was with different grades of Artifact/Relic/Empyrean Armor? Like afterglows only take 10 items and no afterglow taking 100 items?
    Currently, we’re thinking of a system where weapons that currently have an afterglow will have less strict requirements for upgrading compared to ones without an afterglow. It shouldn't be too far off from what you are suggesting, so we hope players look forward to it.

    When considering the Trust Qultada’s behavior, we thought it was in-character for him to be a big risk taker when using the Double Up ability. We think we were able to hint at this personality not just through his quote upon summoning, but also display this personality during the quests he appears in. We hope you can understand this design choice.

    Job Points (12/2)

    I don’t think anymore extra levels are needed. Instead, some actually useful Job Point categories would be desirable.
    We would like to take into consideration how big of an impact adding to Job Points would affect the ability for players to participate in content. Furthermore, since we only recently expanded the amount of Job Points players can obtain, we would like to observe the situation for some time.

    Chacharoon’s Cheer: Green Wyvern (12/4)

    What kind of Haste does this Cheer provide?
    This cheer provides equipment type haste. We hope players can find it useful in conjunction with their armor sets.

    Aeonic Weapons (12/4)

    Will you be able to use the Merit Weapon skills while wearing these weapons, similar to how Mythic Weapons allow for their weapon skills? How strong will they be if so?
    Aeonic Weapons will allow the use of the Merit Weapon Skills even without any points invested into the merit. In this case, the weapon skill will be equivalent to that of a level 5 merited Weapon Skill.
