How I Met Your Mother - Season 8

I just started watching this show pretty much in the middle of season 7. I pretty much got the premise, its a show about how ted met his wife, but from the few episodes I watched I felt like the show wasn't even about ted, but all about his friends. I was pretty confused lol.

As somebody who watched Seasons 1-7 in like a month, I can attest to that. The show is incredibly funny when it's all strung together and I got so attached to the characters that when

Marshall's dad died (the fact that I felt the need to spoiler this is retarded btw)

it hit me fairly hard, mostly because I get way too empathetic over silly things like TV shows and just imagine how I would feel in that situation. Many laughs were had though and I loved every minute of it. Ted's character was not nearly as annoying as everybody said he was when I started the show.

Robin the character does causes a lot of relationship problems, but still love her. She has a lot of great highlights.

Does this last episode make the mom being Barney's sister less likely? Everyone had assumed Ted met the mom AT Barney's wedding, in which case it being his sister made sense. But now it seems Ted met her at the train station AFTER the wedding. Wouldn't he have met the sister at the wedding? I feel like this means it's probably not the sister at this point.

I think it was pretty clear that he met her at the station. Why Ted was there though, is still unknown. So I don't think it writes out Barney's sister just yet

I'm kinda leaning towards her not being the sister after the train scene.

Marshall's dad dying was rough, but the ep that finally got tears out of me was when robin found out she couldn't have kids. Season 7, ep. 14. /cryyyyyy

especially when her and Ted argued at the end, and he brought on the light show for christmas? the way she started crying had me all boo-hooing all over my room. BAWWWWWW

I'm not sure if this was touched on in any of the previous threads, but does anyone think that they might just end the series with him meeting the mother and that's it? No explanation of the relationship, no first date, first kiss etc, just meets the mother at the wedding then "And that kids... is how I met your mother", credits.
I guess they could probably do a montage of all the clue scenes that we've seen so far with the mother in view though. I just feel like the whole series has been a giant cock tease and that would pretty much follow suit lol.
