lol I've learned how to love third world, working my way up to poor now. Never had anything to cook with, so couldn't cook, hence all the dry ramen lolI wonder how you've been doing your own thing for this long without learning how to live poor.

Shit, that's third world too. Why do you think those fuckers have chickens and such running around? One second, it's your kid's pet; the next, it's dinner.
If you were really third world, you would have been burying your food under fires and learning how to call sharks with coconut shells and shit. I bet you can't do that.
lol will just go with eggs every day until I can find something else
One of the things my family used to do was prepare tea in the sun. Just get a big jug of water, put tea bags inside, and set it on the porch for a day or two. Fuck yeah, amazing tea.
I also used to cook Pop-Tarts in the sun. Worked pretty damn well.
That's really the only good thing about Florida: it gets so fucking hot that you can cook/warm some shit without even having electricity.
As for your moving up in the world, other people may have already mentioned this (I didn't read the thread), but be careful about those portable burners. They can sometimes get obscenely hot. Depending upon what you're cooking, you may want to turn the heat down (even if high heat is recommended) to avoid scorching.
you know CS, I just thought of something. If your up for it you should look into how to dry meat. I've never done it but my dad used to make a cured meat (basturma), because it's used in an egyptian dish but wasn't sold near us. I remember the rope of meat always hung up in the kitchen when I was little lol (thank god they sell it here already made, 'cause I have no fucking idea how to do that shit).
It could solve the lack of refrigeration problem for you. just gotta make sure you get a good guide on it so you don't end up with contaminated meat.
[edit] just for shits n' giggles, here's the recipe for basturma:

I love this stuff. I actually should try and make it myself since they overcharge the fuck out of the already made ones. But ya you can make sandwiches n' stuff with it, but the big thing is to throw it in with some scrambled eggs (while cooking). Can eat it straight up or go full on egyptian and eat it with pita bread. gdi...now I want some, gonna make some tomorrow hahaha.
You could also learn how to grow vegetables, if you don't already. You've got land, after all. Depending upon what you're growing, you won't need much water, either.
I used to grow potatoes in my backyard, and that was in some nasty sand only a stone's throw from I-95.
Did eggs again, had some fried onions, so threw them in there as well
Spoiler: show
someone teach this man how to cook please =(
Beat an egg. Boil some pasta and cook to semi-cooked. Remove water and put pasta back into the hot pot. Rotate pasta and slowly pour in beaten eggs. carbonara. Add whatever meat and veggies that you can afford at this point.
If you can track down a used slow cooker. Get one.
Water is off right now, difficult enough to transport back and forth (considering I'm on a bike) enough to drink, yet alone enough to do anything else with.
Wait. How are y ou storing the eggs? Don't you need a fridge??
I've just been going to the store, buying a carton, cooking and eating them all at once, once a day.
You astonish me, sir. The eggs don't look bad though. I fuckign love eggs. Seriously. I don't cook much and most things not well (Abandon can testify, fuck Classico sauces) but I can cook a damned good breakfast. I'll come show ya how to whip up some eggs.
Hint: Use a pot, not a skillet/pan.
Also, that seems expensive to be doing it that way. I'd buy a chicken.
Actually, CS. If you want the truth: I'd go on Reddit/CL and look at the freebies pages. Also, go on whatever town is your home town subreddit and ask if anyone has a mini fridge they'd give away. You can get some fucking badass stuff for free.
Edit: Do you have access to a hose? You could get a pot and boil water to keep.
That skillet is the only cooking apparatus I have in this household. I just throw some cooking spray on there, and throw all the eggs in there and scramble them in there, prior to turning on the heat. Don't have water here, so wasting it on extra bowls/dishes for prep isn't really something I'd like to do lol
I made another post/edit you mighta not read. Read it!
Since I can't store it, buying a chicken is too expensive. Would go bad before I could eat it all/utilize the cost effectiveness. (and even then, still comes up to the same price as eggs, just something I'd prefer to eat over eggs since a $5-6 chicken would last me 2-3 days and the eggs are a bit under $2/carton so 3 days would be roughly the same price). Also, that seems expensive to be doing it that way. I'd buy a chicken.

Already checked CL, haven't reddit for free stuff (or even reasonably priced). If anything, I'd want a mini freezer to a mini fridge. All the mini fridges have a laughable size freezer component.
As far as the water goes, there's a house in my neighborhood with nobody living in it, but the water is still on. I go to the side of their house and fill up a gallon jug as needed (well only at night time since neighbors, etc. and don't feel like getting the police called on me). Just only do 1 or 2 gallons at a time though since it's a bitch to transport without a car.
Additionally, aside from the skillet (which I'm not sure how competent it is,), nothing to boil the water with.
I meant a fucking chicken, CS. A live one. It lays the eggs, you eat them. Am I being whooshed?
YOU GET A POT AND PUT IT ON THE SKILLET CS.
AM I BEING WHOOSHED??
Seriously though, the chicken was a joke, but if you could feed it cheaply, it'd be cheaper than buying eggs. keep it outside.
And get a pot (freeeeeeee from somewhere!) and put water in it, put pot on skillet, let it boil.
I'm sure you can get big ass water jugs somewhere. Get two, fill one up from someone's hose at like 2AM. Use that water for cleaning things, etc, boil it, put in other jug to store.
Edit for RedRed: I had no idea, honestly. Part of me thinks that makes sense from various books I've read of days without fridges. But most of me screams fridge them as that's what I am used to.
Edit for CS: Guess you've got the water thing under control. Essentially, that's what I meant.
Honestly, the 1 gallon jugs are pretty large in itself. They have the 5 gallon jugs, but those things are an absolute bitch to transport without a car, lol.
The pot is doable, just didn't know you could actually do it like that, didn't know if the metal from the pot would damage the surface of the skillet when pairing them, lol
