This has to be the most underrated RPG series of all time. Suikoden II is arguably my all around favorite RPG ever next to Nocturne. The storyline is damn good, the politics, treachery, the friendships built (and destroyed) in the story, all them feels. Combat is fast and fun with combinations (not to mention 108 recruit characters). I still love the original just as much because they all continue off each other. It's sad that it stops right at 3, I don't know what in the world they were thinking by going backwards.. then to different dimensions altogether. :/

That being said.. has anyone played Tierkreis? Now that I have a 3DS XL I wanted to know if that game was worth the time.

I bought the DS for this game only. It's not the games fault i didn't finish it... don't think i've finished a game on handheld since pokemon blue/red.

It's an okay game, but it's association to the franchise is generally a coat of paint in terms of the 108 character recruitment and basic move sets. Plus the voiceworkisasourceofcontentiondependingonwhoyouask becausethemainherotalksreallyfastattimes.

I played it and liked it. There are a few elements that relate to Suikoden, but it is a very different game from the others. My only recommendation would be to play it on mute as the voices are weird.

If you like the Suikoden series I highly suggest you pick up Radiant Historia. That was by far one of the best games I've played in years.

Tierkreis, as a standalone game, is OK. Nothing special, but not a bad game.

When you add the Suikoden into the name, it is a disgrace.

So just pretend that it's not a Suikoden game, and you may enjoy it.

Yes it is. Second isn't though.

Tierkreis is an abortion. Even as a stand-alone jRPG, it's mediocre, let alone branding it with a Suikoden title.
