Final Fantasy IV (iOS/Android)

Square Enix is bringing Final Fantasy IV to iOS on December 20. The game will be available on Android in spring 2013.

Just to be clear because there are so many versions of Final Fantasy IV, we’re talking about the Nintendo DS remake with 3D character models and the augment system. Final Fantasy IV for Nintendo DS was a bit harder than other versions. To make the mobile phone release more accessible, players will be able to select a difficulty level.

Final Fantasy IV will be released worldwide with Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Chinese (Simplified and traditional characters) for 1,800 yen ($22).

Bit surprised they're not taking the easy route with porting FFIV Complete from the PSP instead.

Nice to see more Android games coming from them at least, even if it's not day and date with iOS.

I almost can't get enough Kain, but this is too much for me (plus I don't have an iphone). The complete collection, IMO, is better, though, but hey, Kain on an Iphone!

Pretty sure the only way I'd buy another version of IV is if it was a full on 3D HD remake which we all know will never happen.

It's the DS Remake not the PSP Complete Collection.

The 3d graphics will sell much more than the 2d version. Also I think its easier to port since they just have to tweak the res and other stuff rather than redo entire 2d artwork so that it doesn't looks crappy. DS version also gives more replayability with augments and new game +. Either way FFIV is FFIV.

Anyways now that 1-4 are done I kinda hope they skip on TAY and just give us glorious FFV and FFVI remake/remaster.

After playing the DS version I can't go back to the older ones. Aside from the 3D, improved script, and smattering of (surprisingly impressive) voice acting; the customization offered by augments makes the game so much better.

The complete lack of customization in IV was one of the things I liked least about it (only FF to offer virtually none), there was some room for strategy but at certain points in the game if you didn't want every random encounter to potentially wipe you outright you had to grind and there was little way around it. Draw Attacks alone made the game so much more manageable, no more anyone-not-Cecil getting hit for 90% of their HP by just regular enemy attacks. You could progress underleveled and still survive with smart use of augments.

I did miss the old Darkness ability tho ._.
