30 Minutes of gameplay
Return to the classic medieval tale of magic, monsters and friendship with FINAL FANTASY V!
Twenty years after the original FINAL FANTASY V released in Japan, the classic RPG has found its way to mobile devices!
Embark on an epic adventure as four heroes driven together by fate: Bartz and his chocobo companion, Princess Lenna of Castle Tycoon, the mysterious Galuf, and the pirate captain Faris. The crystals that bring peace and prosperity to the world – earth, water, fire, and wind – have lost their power and are on the verge of destruction.
•Customize characters with an unprecedented degree of freedom with the job and ability system – 26 unique job classes!
•Veteran character designer Kazuko Shibuya has returned to recreate the characters and graphics for a completely enhanced mobile experience!
•Touch-screen controls and active-time battle system are optimized for fluid combat on mobile devices
•This new version also includes “The Sealed Temple” from the 2006 release, as well as the Tetsuya Nomura-designed optional boss Enuo, and an extraordinary soundtrack
•Game Center support and plenty of achievements to be earned.
16 or 17$ and Universal. Looks like GBA Translation but better quality SNES music. The movement is more free like a 3D game rather than traditional FF 2D movement. Achievements are there to! It uses the universal aspect ratio like dimensions. It will be released worldwide at around 9PM PDT.
From the video it looks gorgeous, much better than dimensions.
Ugh... can a nigga get an Android version? :/
Yeah been playing it since this morning pretty fun
Hmmmm.... the "free" movement style feels weird lol
Trophy List
Open all treasure chest.
Oh boy, Thief full time.
Also for those who never played FFV iirc there are 3 points of no return (if you missed stuff)
Stuff to note about this game (played up to the wind shard)
1) The free movement is nice but you can get stuck in stairs or doors if you enter diagonaly isntead of straight
2) Sprites look good and finally somewhat lively
3) Music is so nostalgic (mega love)
4) There is sadly no running option unless you have a Thief in the party (which sucks imo)
5) They added the local time in the upper right corner which is a nice touch imo
6) There is no map feature like in FFIV
Also when you change world 2 times
Oh yea, FFV is missable hell.
A few of the summons are missable. The game has 3 worlds maps so all chest and bestiary in the first two will be missable AND there are also areas you get cut off from in each world, and there are quite a few missable scenes like Bartz's backstory in lix in world 1. The pianos needed for bardsongs are missable, the genji equipment you steal from each gilgamesh encounter is missable. The level type blue magic (e.g Level 5 Death) is missable but none of the other blue magic is missable in this release thankfully. I do recommend using a guide or google for assistance.
I feel the same way. The remake looks sooooo nice.
hmm .. i loved the original music.. but had always hoped for a full channel arrangement. FF5-7 are left, since 1-4 got full channel treatment.
while nostalgia is nice, i'd like to hear what it'd have sounded like if they had "real" instruments.
maybe PSP/PSV for that
i'll dream on.
Doubt it
Use Thief on overworld map.
It's like Chocobo movement minus the bird.
How are you guys playing this already?
Surely I'm not the only one who thinks that this looks absolutely fucking terrible and is an abomination to the original.
Right???
FF5 already had amazing sprites, there was no reason to redo them. The Amano-portraits make no sense and are a terrible clash with the graphic style.
