Holding on for an eventual 3D remake ala FF3/4/4TAY lol
Holding on for an eventual 3D remake ala FF3/4/4TAY lol
Finally got a chance to play this.
Controls are fucking atrocious. Is there any way to make the movement pad static, instead of appearing wherever I click?
(I still stand by the new sprites looking terrible, and the amano artwork incredibly out of place, but those are forgivable, terrible controls on the other hand, not so much.)
Sorry for the bump.
If anyone actually care game is down to 11$ instead of 16$ on the appstore
SE posted half price on their games at the app store, so 7.99$ for this now. Picked it up and the hair of the portraits just doesn't look good! Should of matched what their sprites look!
Sorry for the bump but game is coming to steam for anyone who cares
@FinalFantasy: Final Fantasy V is coming to Steam on September 24th, 2015!

With the mobile abomination graphics? No thanks lol. Completely butchered. They need to give it a proper remake like FFIV DS got, but for 3DS or whatever handheld comes next (along with FF6)
I've said this once. The graphics may be bad and I hope they straighten them out a little, but I may be getting this. FF5 on the PC? And not having to track down expensive GBA copy? Sold. I got a controller so it shouldn't be as crap controls as on my phone.
The sprites never bothered me, apart from the gladiator one being changed, but that's just a minor nitpick. I guess this would be good for one who doesn't already have the mobile version and is iffy about emulation.
Maybe I'm under the minority here, but I prefer the old school graphics over 3D. Like, I'd take FFIV SNES over 3DS without question.
Yeah I'm kinda with you on that one. Although the 3D FF4 had some interesting elements to it (augments) and did a better job of fleshing out a few plot points, the PSP one felt more polished IMO.
New Features
- Veteran character designer, Kazuko Shibuya, has returned to recreate the characters and graphics from the Game Boy Advance version for an enhanced experience.

- Enuo, an optional boss created by renowned designer Tetsuya Nomura
- Loads of obtainable Steam trading cards and achievements
Oh hey, it's Butz when every official localization of the game calls him Bartz!
It's out. Seems like they did a lazy port, but in my case, I'm waiting a bit to buy this since well, my cashflow can be slow.
Seems like it's just a rather lazy port of the android/ios version without the touch controls, I'm reading from the reviews.
Did they really need to do anything with the port other than remove touch controls? What exactly makes it a "lazy" port anymore than any of the other rereleases? lol
Use of the term is pretty annoying and made to spite lack of added functionality or new in game features.
Yeah prolly. People on Steam were complaining about the graphics and they should of "hd"ed them more b/c there was visible tiling issues in some spots. Uh. What do people expect from a old game? Tho the fact some are having animation problems/choppy stuff is a little worrisome, but I use a Nivida card so I shouldn't have a issue. (Nividia cards seem to have no issues.)
Old graphics aren't a showstopper for me, especially for a game like this that I had been thinking of tracking down a copy of the GBA version. What's stopping me is dinero. Moola. Money. I need to build some more up first.
Don't worry; with it on Steam you can bet it'll be at least 60% before the end of the year at some point. Or, if you want it on Android you can buy it during SE's annual New Year's sale when it'll be half off.
NEVER pay full price for digital games!
Yeah, iirc IV DS is based around the normal/(hardtype) version and not the 'easytype' one most have come to know growing up.
I'm pretty sure all the IV releases other than the original NA SNES release have been the "hard type" version.
That said the DS version of IV is actually easier imo because of the augments (especially draw attacks) and changes to stuff like Pray (restores MP).
It's still my favorite version tho.
