some of us come from families that just aren't that close, so getting nothing is the norm. In fact, if i DID ever get something, i'd expect some bullshit request/demand to come in the near-future

And I'm used to getting nothing. Parents barely make enough to stay alive, I'm not going to make them spend money on some gifts. On the plus side, I actually make money now so I can just buy whatever I want, whenever I want. Also doesn't help half my family is living in another country.

Mainly how mine is. Bulk of the cash I got came from my aunt for helping her out over the past year when no one else would. Maybe someone out there would cherish some wal-mart sneakers and some old spice deodorant, but it just seems like running through the motions to me.
