It will be the best thing ever for the best game.

I wouldn't get TOO excited. While the new guild system sounds like a lot of fun, it'll be pretty disappointing IMO if they follow the same model as the previous four boxes by releasing the areas/content bit by bit.

I'm hoping Abyssea taught them about how much content people are satisfied with out of an expansion. (Not trying to get another debate about Abyssea's content itself but rather the amount of it) I would say each Abyssea addon had about as much to do as TOAU did upon release, but they were spaced 3 months apart so it felt like a huge amount of content in a very short time.

Stupid addictions. I'm pretty sure I'll buy the expansion even though right now I don't want to touch the game with a 10-feet pole. At least when it goes F2P it will be a good time killer until ARR I guess

Thank god it's early in the year, idk how viable it would have been if they'd waited until much later to release.

As for FFXI F2P... don't see that happening before SE pulls the plug on the game entirely.

Given the game's age, popularity/fanbase and the distribution methods people use nowadays, unless this was one of the "A" games (CoD/MW, etc etc etc) I think it'll be digital only. Too much money to lose going via the usual route.

Makes perfect sense to me, rumor has it FFXIV ARR could possibly hit in July at the earliest(assuming things go well in BETA), this expansion will drive up some sales a few months earlier to give those waiting something to do until then.

Looks like Mandragora's final form. First they're sproutlings, then they bloom with flowers on their head, then they become Chloris's then they probably grow to be those things(they have similar humanoid features, especially the eyes are reminiscent of mandies.)
